So as the title says…my trusty Scraper Mate broke last week. The sad part is that I didn’t even have a whole year into it. Went to reach for my scraper and “snap” - the black plastic backer of the holster cracked right in half. Bummer… Hopefully the manufacturer will look into this issue. Loved that thing…
Do you use the Triumph MK3? If so that’s the problem. I use the MK3 angled so it doesn’t have that issue. Any other scraper won’t have that issue either. The thicker handle on the straight MK3 stresses the backer on the ScraperMate.
Get with chris on this one, if I remember right I saw a video of mark the window cleaner said that his had broke also and chris got him another one from the mfg.
I could be wrong on this but worth a try atleast.

depending on when you got it, there was a known defect. He gave us a allotment to reissue in cases like yours. Scrapermate is the manf. Small company.

I bought a scraper mate about 2 years ago or so and it broke the first week I had it. I figured it was cold weather. And I use a regular triumph. Must be a manufacture issue. I called the company I bought from (I think either A** ir **********, only one of them sell it) and they sent me one right away, along with a nifty little tool belt. Sadly enough, my other one got lost somewhere along the line. Very good product other than that. I love the fact that you don’t have to use your cover. Single hand operation.
I like holding the cover to my Triumph in my other hand – it reminds me that I’m using a really sharp tool.
My scrapermate broke within a few weeks of use too. Since then, I’ve only used the sorbo holsters. It hangs right behind my boab and makes getting my scraper as intuitive as drawing a pistol.
Just how often have you had to draw your pistol?
If you are using the Triumph MK2 scraper it puts too much strain on one point of the Scrapermate which will weaken it and allow it to break. The MK2 angled and other scrapers don’t put this strain on it. I broke my first one when I slipped on some ice and broke it. I’ve had the second one (using the MK2 angled and Ettore 6") for several years now with no issues.
