Thanks for being nice to my baby! Let the brushes break in a little bit and it’ll be easier to use.
I actually spend a lot of time deburring and smoothing everything out. I’m always worried that someone might nick themselves or something.
And be sure to use circular motions to get the frames.
Man I love it man ! Great job on the design and it’s built very well! Now if and when I may wear out the brushes can I replace them?
And thank you for the tips
Do you have any problems with older screens tearing with the Aztec?
Hey Justin,
I’ve been using these since I made the first prototype (about 6 years). And for worn screens, it shouldn’t be a problem. If the screen is just a bunch of threads, then yeah, you might want to skip it. I usually decide whether or not a worn screen needs to be cleaned. If it’s all shiny and worn, then cleaning it isn’t going to make a difference.
I have been noticing a variation with the brushes recently. I think Luke’s brushes might be a little thicker than normal. I’m looking into this issue but I don’t think they’re thick enough to damage a screen. If you go side to side in a circular motion it shouldn’t ever damage a screen.
Okay we know the Aztec rocks…
Can it handle heavy fly poop on the frame inside edges…?
Sorry best pic I have at the moment. I do a lot of cattle ranch homes, and this is getting ridiculous.
Humm, do they come off with soap and water?
With tons of scrubbing.
You could do what I do with baked in dirt: I squirt the screens with a heavy soap solution and then just scrub them.
I’d also be curious if you hooked up the screen washer to a L10 heater if it would scrub even better…? I’d bet it would come right off.
Hmmm, now that’s something to think about.
Thanks for responding Jared.
The bristles will not damage the screen . We have been using it for several weeks now with several different types of screens and we are still very impressed with this product.
