Unger Indoor Cleaning System

Hey guys, I purchased an Unger indoor system. My plan is to be strategic about when and where I use it. I looked at a few videos demonstrating some pointers on how to use the system and some pointers. In one of them the guy added " E-cover "
and when I looked up the product there are many different varieties and applications of the E- cover brand.
So, can any of you share what this might be and your own experience with the indoor system; if you are adding anything to the pure water ( Alcohol ? like some have said ). If so can you give me the ratio for that application.

Your feedback is appreciated !

My post is not formatted like I originally typed it. Does the administrator know why ?

Honestly I have used it with excellent results but only with pure water. Using soap or sprayaway I ran into smears and complications. There’s honestly not much slip on the light green pads but they still work well and you just deal with the friction. If there are no stuck on stains and just fingerprints, use the dark green pad and there is way less resistance.

I mostly use the washing/fluffy pad with Sprayway.

I’ve learned to keep it only lightly damp and nothing more. When using the fluffy pad, it should be damp enough to dry about 2-5" after the pad in the same pass on the glass, anything more and you’ll leave haze behind or (this is how you know it’s WAY too wet) start beading and leave water/cleaner on the glass.

The fluffy pad is about the only thing I need for 90% of maintained glass. I’m still trying to work out a good solid way to use the polishing pads, I’m thinking it falls along the same principal of drying time (how quick it dries on the glass in the same pass).

Also, the washing pads are GREAT at dusting glass and the sash/mullions/frames as there’s overlap in the size of the pad with the size of the applicator/holder. You can adjust it so all the overlap is on the bottom/top/left/right side and use the overlap to really get the frames as well as the glass. I’ve used the fluffy pads to dust wood paneling in a restaurant for a post CCU job for a new building in town.

I’ve also used the fluffy pads to dunk in a bucket with citrus solvent and apply it to commercial 2/3 story glass to take off gasket grease, then cleaned that off with a WFP.

They’re awfully handy to use outside their intended role!

Thanks for the detailed instructions. But need to ask. What is Sprayaway. Still also need to know what E-cover is as seen in another video.

E cover is just a green based dish soap. It’s biodegradable to I think. The one that everyone uses is the lemon citrus one I think.( I use it but don’t remember the wording at the moment) but not the other types. It’s the lemon that adds to the cleaning power.
But as for me I use the indoor kit on select Windows as well. Sky lights and indoor glass rooms. Also places you can’t drip water. I use about 60% di water and % 40 isopropyl alcohol. ( I kinda gues when mixing it.) seems to work good for me. I wash with fluffy pad and buff with the fine one dry. As said before the fine fad does not slide across the glass well but you learn to work around it.
