Uniforms

do any of you wear uniforms?

Button down light blue shirt with logo over the pocket. Dark blue hat with logo on front. Khaki pants. Sneakers.
Never have to think about what I’m going to wear today.

I think it is important to wear work clothes not casual clothes. I wear work boots, Carhartt Carpenter Jeans, and a plain red Polo shirt. No logo but I look like I’m ready to work not like I’m ready to just hang out. If I had a crew everybody would wear a red shirt and blue jeans. Khaki pants look really nice and professional but I think they look dirty faster than jeans.

I do have a nice Logo on all my paperwork, post cards and business cards. Even have a website but no logo on my clothing. That’s how I roll.

i was thinking about picking up some uniforms. i was thinking about dickies just because of how quick they dry but i hate the way they look.

about how much does it run you to get your logos printed on your clothes (or embroided)?

We wear a maroon Polo with logo and name on front left of shirt. "Professional Window Cleaning, Commercial / Residential, and phone number on back. Shorts or jeans depending on temp.

Im in process of having our new logo put on t shirts and sleeveless shirts now.Logo on back and company name over heart in front. We wear shorts in summer, jeans any other time. Im going lite blue for our shirts.

Dark blue polo with cargo shorts or pants. Still need to get my logo on soon.

Hey Sharen, is that you and your crew on the cover of WCBO issue #5?

yep…

Nice. You all look good- clean cut, professional, trustworthy. I bet people don’t follow you all around from room to room too much huh? Congrats on making the cover.

I have blue polo neck t shirt with my name and business name on front.
ON back of it is business name with phone number in big white lettering.
Have black light weight work trousers.
Work boots.

Work boots, jeans or jean shorts in summer (not cut-offs, course), shirt ,sweatshirt, rain coat, or parka with logo front and back, no phone number, logo ball cap or stocking cap in winter, black ironclad gloves.

me and my helper wear royal blue scrubs with “Window M.D.” monogrammed on them. The customers seem to like the “staying in character”.
We always wear shoe protectors inside as well.

You should consider buying an old ambulance van and turning it into your work vehicle.

Thanks, appreciate the kind words

Why no phone number, Steve?

I used to, but then I realized I’ve never written down a number off a shirt. Our “look” is like a utility or municipality. Subdued but professional on the trucks, and everything else, including shirts. No lists of services, full color pictures, etc. Just logo and name…and with good SEO, that should get em to the website!

If we did residential, then probably add the number.

We have blu and grey polo shirts, logo is on the left chest. The shirts we use are kind of like a jersy material to stay cool on the hot summer days, and they are still clean at the end of the day.

I’m filthy by the end of a work day-- no matter what I wear.

me and the lads who work for me wear carefully chosen cheap well worn secondhand gear. it must be dark blue or black, a white stripe is ok ,no matter if a bit ripped . We mostly work on low priced areas (with soul!) and i guarantee if we showed up in flashy gear we would get rejected

last week i took on a 2nd worker,a homeless guy . he is borrowing suitable work gear from my main worker until I see if he fits in and ive given him shoes for now instead of his big steely boots . but hes not borrowing ANYBODYS underwear, NO WAY !

we wear Vistaprint caps, these have the correct sized peak when working face-to-glass and are the right type to be cranked down nicely on a windy day , dont blow off. its suprizing how many caps are on sale that dont work well in this job
