you dotn get the same quality with straight pulls as they leave an amount of water at the top of the frame, which means u have to run a towel up there, so not faster.
Good point Rick. Everytime I see straight pulls on commercial jobs I wonder how long they have been cleaning windows. With that said
many guys feel more comfortable with that way and it works for them.
The biggest issue in training guys is getting them to fan less. Guys go back and forth 3 or 4 times as they finish out a piece of glass. It’s a waste of time and in those cases they are not fully using their squeegee length.
A time and a place for everything. Sometimes straight pulls, sometimes fanning, sometimes a combo of both on the same window… ;). Anyways, I find there are so many variables on commercial that each place and each type of window will be approached differently. As far as detailing, whether you’re straight pullin’ or fanning, you will always and should always detail the edges.
