Using the Basics - Challenge Accepted!- $10 can still get you $200

Visited the Olds for a week. Ma kept hinting how her windows needed a touch up, and raved about her local cleaner. Good strategy by her, she knows how to stir the competitiveness in me.
They have zero window cleaning gear, so i made it a challenge for myself. Scrounged up what I could use; old broom, bucket, scourer, and spend no more than $10 on gear. I would normally price the job at about $200.

Off to the local hardware store n supermarket
$7 - half decent squeegee
$1 - vinegar
$1 - cheapo dish concentrate

Did the old 50ml vinegar; 50ml dish wash; 5ltr water mix that I learnt on my very first day.
Knocked it over in 2.5hrs with some pausing of bevies.

Then i go home to my van with $5k gear.

From $10 to $5k - how did that happen!:D:D

Awesome lol!

Nice Davo…

How was the experience for you?
Like you said you cleaned $200 WORTH OF GLASS with $10 worth of tools and product with plenty of product left and still have the tools do due more jobs, Why do you need $5k worth of tools?
does the 5k make you more then $10 set of ok tools and product…Hmmmm?

Just another thought to ponder.

Merry Christmas!

Of course it does…

Ok! it does John, your right… you had to twist my arm on that one.LOL

What a waste of $1 - you over spent. No vinegar needed

I tell a lot of customers that a good window cleaner can do a great job with almost anything that is used, but what we use makes it much easier and safer.

Yep, should have got ammonia instead.
