I am looking for some ideas for marketing to vacation homes.
What does that mean?
You’ll probably get more (and better) responses if you tell us who owns the vacation homes? A single owner or a management group, that rents them out? Where are they located (owners, not homes). What is peak season? Off-season? Competition in the area? And so on…
Do you live in a vacation town? I would think that many vacation homes are owned by out of town owners. You might have to get a list of the owners names through a sales lead company that sells lists or maybe the hall of records if you know the addresses you are targeting. You would want to send a mailer or make a phone call to the actual owner directly, not to the address of the vacation home. However, this is a guess and I have no experience doing this.
Single owners mostly. A lot of the owners live in the Detroit Metro area, but others are scattered across the state. They seem to visit the homes on holidays and weekends during the summer. The competition is light and not much of a concern.
Thanks Phil. I do not live in a vacation town, but I’m about an hour from a few different lake side towns. I clean a few of them currently and I’m looking to grow in this area. Thanks for your comments I will look into getting some lists.

Well I have to admit that if you have to clean windows for a living, you might as well do it in a beautiful location. Anyway, it would be very cool to have a few clients in a lake side town, set up a couple clients on say a Friday and take your fishing pole and make a long weekend. Just saying… 
you need to go where vacation rental home owners are. I see you offer window cleaning services. You can create a free business listing in a rental owner community www.trolltraveler.com. when you sign up create a business listing with your website address and phone number. A good way to reach these clients is to post information they would be interested in reading in a community sections.If you help they will help you. Good Luck
