Van broke down

I’d call her to make sure she got the email and appologize for the problem (you had to leave it at her place overnight right?) and see how she reacts. It’s possible you could turn it into a chance to show her your nice cool personality, which could lead to her scheduling a cleaning.

It would be natural Tony for you to think this may hinder you from getting the job. But I think most people understand problems with vehicles because we’ve all had them. Now if you left the vehicle there for a week it may be a different story…

Tony,
had the fuel pump go in my Montana this winter…it cost me $1200 to replace!!! I’m currently looking for a truck to replace this aging van.

This past Monday, one of my crew leaders calls me and says he’s been pulled over for speeding. Didn’t get the speeding ticket, but he got an expired inspection sticker ticket…buh! I forgot that it went out in June.

So I have him take the truck to the Oil change station to get an oil swap and an inspection. He goes to lunch while he waits. He comes back to find that the guys working on the truck couldn’t start it because the “battery is dead”. They were charging it with another charger, didn’t work. They tried another battery, didn’t work. They hooked it to another truck, again, didn’t work. The techs from the oil shop were yelling and cussing at each other and nearly in a fist fight over what went wrong. At one point the battery in my truck was smoking.

So they gave up, connected the old battery and were going to roll it back out of the shop. Still no inspection. My guy jumped in to steer, and what do ya know, it starts right up. Like normal. They say, "we can’t inspect it until you drive 60 miles to auto-correct the emmissions control.

On the way home, he calls and says that the speedometer was dead, the ABS light is on, and the truck is lugging really bad. All of which were totally not happening before he went there.

I call the manager at the shop and gives me some BS run around. I call the other store and try to speak to a boss-type person. He gives me the run around too. Today, I am calling the owner.
MY truck is broke because of their mess up and I AIN’T happy!

So, Tony, I know how you feel.

There goes $550 to fix the speed sensors and ABS sensors that they blew out with their charger.

Man Bert that was a bad day. Sorry to hear about that buddy.
