It works like a champ - just make sure that all of your marketing material (etc.) have the new address.
MajesticCleaningForU.com is probably available. Or shorten it to MajesticFU.com…
If it’s no different, why isn’t it “picked over as much?”
.net is to .com is what .biz is to .net
.co is somewhere in the middle…maybe.
- but definitely not at the top.
Nobody is going to search “Majestic” window cleaning
-except for current customers, who already know your name.
So it doesn’t matter.
Besides “MajesticWindowCleaning.com” is a dead page, so you whatever.
Since my last post, I bought the domain I WOULD use as a second choice.
- It’s yours for what I paid, ($12 bucks) -or not.
Either way, you’re better off than .schleprock herky jerky “I couldn’t find a .com site” .co at $690 bucks.
I stand corrected= Majesticcleaning.com was $680 (not .co)
But, still… with that vague heading, you’re fighting carpet cleaners, dead bug cleaners, dog cleaners, etc…
I don’t think I claimed it was a top tier extension, simply said it was being used more often.
Could be a possible new revenue stream.
Sorry for the Nitpick,but …
You never said anything about it being used more often.
But you DID say it was"no different."
If I’m wrong, I’ll blame it on iPad.
It’s dark and I cant go back to review posts like on my pc.
Either way, sounds like we agree that all things being equal
.com and .co are NOT “no different” than each other.
Eh, I sorta disagree. It’s just another extension that is coming on the market. The com’s have pretty much been bought out (big business back in the 90’s) and the co’s are coming online. The .biz’s are just lame, the .net’s are ancient, the .org’s are supposed to be for nonprofits, .porn is sort of specialized, and the .gov’s are scary.
I don’t have a problem with co url’s BUT you’ll have to get over the idea that someone is going to want to type com. But with all the url shortening going on these days, people are getting more used to not having com on the end of everything.
Most people don’t know that “http://” used to be REQUIRED. It wasn’t long ago when people would say visit my site at dubba ewe dubba ewe dubba ewe…
But personally, I don’t think Mike should change his url - I’m just suggesting buying something short, sweet, and easy to remember to slap on the van. Then that url just forwards to his main url. If it’s funny, it might work just as well as being short.
Well I bought the majesticleaning.co
My only thing with it is … Does it look like we just forgot the m. All I ever see on wraps is , com Or does it just stand out more an easy to remember.
That’s all it’s on there for right ? For people to remember
Would you guys put a .co on your vechile?

I actually use a .io and a .co extension because somebody is cyber-squatting on the .com and .net. At the end of September we’re taking delivery of a Ford Transit Connect and will be listing our domain name with .io on the wrap. All my cards have my email and website with this extension. While web traffic is very important to me, my phone number is even more critical as I want it to be easy to be remembered. There is a service called RingCentral that sells numbers much like domain names. I paid close to $600 for 512.842.7777. This number will be one of the largest things on the van. It’s easy to remember and the fastest way to reach our company. In fact as we work on our website redesign, we’re going to encourage people to call - again prominently featuring the number.
As I mentioned earlier in the thread, I’ve been buying and selling domains since the late 90s. I’ve been tracking these things for what feels like dog years in internet time. Yes .com is a what most people know but as Jared mentioned earlier, it’s becoming more common and not as big of a deal like it was in 2010.
If you make MajesticCleaning.co large enough people will see it. I agree with your earlier comment that people will take a picture of your vehicle to remember to get in touch with you later. At the end of the day this is what you’re after. The shorter domain name will make this much easier IMHO.
How much of your business comes from the web versus a phone call?
I wouldn’t worry about it. It’s a lot easier to remember than your current one and you can say it like a business corporate name “majestic cleaning co” like “pepsi co” etc.
But definitely capitalize www.MajesticCleaning.co
Then you can keep an eye on the .com name and if it ever comes up for release you can snag it for cheap.
Good stuff guys . I just needed to feel at ease about the .co. It’s not something you can change once it’s on ther
