We just opened our window cleaning division today! We are very excited about getting into the window cleaning business. We have always offered window cleaning services but today we officially dropped our division. I paid $900 for this window cleaning domain. I hope to make my money back in a month or so. You guys think its worth $900?
Wish me luck! I will be popping in on this forum more to learn more from all you window cleaning experts. Luckily for me my window cleaning employee has like 10 years experience.
Nope, no domain is worth that unless it is your name IMHO. You would have been much better off spending $900 on SEO and got much larger returns. There is a company local near me that bought a ton of domains for each town so ThisTownwindowcleaning.com, does it help them rank? Sure, do I have a better average rank for those same towns with a 4 month old website? Yep, and I don’t need to pay $ each year for those domains. I always encourage folks to invest in SEO and not take the shortcuts like domains and PPC, long run it will return and return and return that investment.
Either way not a huge chunk of change and you will get some value out of it, just could have used the money better IMHO. I am very thankful others don’t invest in their sites as I love only having to market that way…$40/month for the site and did 5 estimates today!
P.S. Nice looking site…very clean and tons of good content.
I believe you got a steal!
Now I am a fool…so take what you want out of what I have to say…but I would have dropped that money in a heartbeat regardless of WHOEVER advised me not to!
Phoenix is insane in the window cleaning business and that domain name is 1 of 2 that is the best you could have. 1. windowcleaningphoenix.com and then yours.
Love it sir…simply love it!!
And besides …what’s $900?
You will ALWAYS be glad you dropped that change for that name!
Proudly providing window cleaning services to my fellow Parker County residents.
Um, you do know google doesn’t value emds as much as they used to (i know, my fb is an emd too)? As for if it was worth it, only you can answer that.
If it was me I would build one main site and not a whole bunch of smaller sites for each service and town I offer. Bigger site with more content will do better in serps than the small ones.
I would have spent some of that money on content and do 2-3 press releases. $900 spent on this would be much more worth it than spending that money on an emd that doesn’t work as good as it used to.
I am 100% fine with that for what I get, it also means I get back links on a ton of other sites at the same host and the editor which allowed me to do 100% of my own content on my site. I could drop it down to $20/month with no editor, I also have the piece of mind my host is 5 minutes drive from my house. I am going to spend $480 for a site that will generate $20-40k in business this year if I actually wanted it all(I clean 8-10 hours a week on the side), I am fine with that ROI. I spend $1,200 for the build and 1 year of hosting, I think I got a plenty good deal already.
It is only worth it if you are landing on the first page of google, until that happens you simply wasted money. Now stick some serious content behind it and you got yourself a winner, and like others said it is only $900.
Your websites awesome man. Would I have paid for the URL? Probably not, but either way your going to easily make your money back on it and it is a good domain. Even though google says a domain targeting a city doesnt help the SEO, I still believe it does… You will be happy with it
Nice looking website. And $900 for a domain is not bad as it is EMD (not as important in Google’s eyes theses days, but still has some impact). As long as you have nice website/good content and really use it to market your business, $900 is a fair price.
good choice to purchase that domain name. Was it worth 900? you probably couldve negotiated it down a couple hundred but no matter because you will make your money back and its a good investment.
people say emd is not a factor but if you have two websites that are evenly seo’d, the emd will obviously have an edge.
Yes the domain was aged when I purchased it, but it is already showing up on the first page of Google for window cleaning phoenix!! So it was well worth the investment!
Check it out: #3 so far in natural results… not bad…
