I’ve been using car wash n wax to clean the screens for a while now, I find its
a softer detergent and the wax leaves a nicer shine. I was wondering if anyone else uses this and if so how does it go for you

The issue with wax for cleaning screens is it gets rinsed onto the glass by rain. Normally it wouldn’t be a big deal but if you use water fed pole to clean your exterior windows and it’s a regular job, it can cause issues. The wax has a hydrophobic effect and makes it much harder to clean.

Thanks for your comments big bob, so would you use car wash without the added wax, or do you think there is no real difference between dish soap and carwash? Ide interested to hear your thoughts

I hear some guys use tide laundry detergent for screen washing. Never tried it myself, but it always intrigued me…
Ya, Tide with bleach alternative has been talked about here for years.
I am currently using my home made version of simple green for screens
I use to experiment with different screen solutions. my favorite (which is totally not good for customers houses) is tire shine. I did a test on my shop screens and cleaned 1 regular, and 1 I did a coating of tire shine. it made it look like new and stayed looking good for months. crap…now i can’t remember if it was tire shine, or tire black. its been a few years. anyway the point was I wanted to see what the effect was, and then try to formulate something similar that wouldn’t wash off onto windows. melody-future chemist phd
I also tried Tide. that worked pretty well as I recall.
Now that Im back in the business I might have to start experimenting again.
That’s right tyre shine does make them look like new but still have to wash them first. The problem I found with it thou was it does leave a silicone type residue on glass and is very very slippery if overspray hits any floor tiles. I must say I do really like screen Magic but can’t justify the price.

At the end of the day I think just plain old soap works just fine

don’t spend your cash on that other stuff, dish soap works fine,if there is a lot of grease use simple green.
