Water stains from power washing?

I did the exterior of a home today that I’ve been doing twice a year since it was built 3 years ago. Today I noticed one side of the house had some sort of water stain on every window on that side, all 3 floors. Six months ago, the windows were 100% without stains. Very strange! Then I talked to the painters who had just power washed two days ago. They had used a new house wash solution on that one side, but it didn’t even touch the mildew so they just switched back to bleach & water and continued on.
Now I haven’t been here for six months so I cant say for sure if it was as a result of the power washing, but it seems like a strange coincidence. Has anyone else seen or heard anything like this?

I’ve done windows over the years after PWs have been there and sometimes there are very bad hard water stains. I always assumed there was a connection.

I do several strip malls that powerwash their sidewalks several times a year. Whatever cleaner they use stains the windows. It takes a couple regular cleanings to clear up the windows. Glass is very porus.

Whenever I see this I always ask them if they powerwash their house. They say yes 90% of the time. I let them know they can’t let any standing water dry on the windows or they’re going to get mineral deposits on the glass, which is very expensive to treat. We usually treat a couple per cleaning at no charge letting them know we’ll eventually get it all - giving them the choice of paying us to treat all of them at once obv.
