hey guys
Well I’m heading out tomarrow morning to give a estimate to a good potential customer. He needs his windows clean, but after speaking to him over the phone he mentioned he had applied car wax to the exterior windows and some interior aswell. Its a 3000 sq ft house 2story place. Ok so my question is how dificult is removing wax from windows? Do i need chemicals to remove wax?
Thanks in advance and hope you guys can help in such a short time. Thanks in advance again.
I’d tell hime the price was triple for him “waxing” his windows. I think next time I get my car detailed, I’m going to spray paint it, and have them give me a good “buff job”. Idiots…
Ok so I headed to the house of wax lol well windows to give my estimate. He apparently used car wax to give his windows a good shine, repel water n dirt. So before I gave him a regular cleaning qoute I asked him if it was okay to test one window. So I did, it comes off pretty easy not much of a big deal. I didn’t make him sign a waiver because there was no need for a scraper. So I got the job and agreed that if we have any trouble with the rest of the windows I would raise my original quote accordantly
I had a similar situation last year. The person applied a spray on car wax to his windows. It wasn’t too bad except it encapsulated some bugs to the bottom half of the windows. So I purchased some Krud Kutter and sprayed down the windows, rinsed and squeegee’d them. They came out fine. You can get KK from Ace, ACO, Walmart ect… Get the concentrate not the window washer version because youll want about a 20:1 mix or so.
Hope this helps.
Try a little soap that is good grease fighter, vinegar, rubbing alcohol. Try bronze/steel wool. Car wax usually comes off car windshields fairly easy. Let us know what you found that worked for you
