WCR-Shipping cost

Hello all…just have an observation…has anyone kinda noticed that the shipping cost with WCR is a little “high”?..While the products are wonderful (i have ordered all mine from WCR)…I’m just starting out in my wc biz…(53yo)…and on a tight budget.
And getting just a 3% discount is kinda small…(when I make a order to vistprint.com …they give me a 25% discount on my next order)…like i said the product is very good and professional grade…but when ordering $200 worth and paying $15 in shipping is not bad …however when ordering $17 worth and paying $13 in shipping…well…doesnt make much sense…perhaps i just havent been in the biz long enough (lol)…but have ordered plenty online…never ran across such high shipping cost…just some constructive criticism… thanks

Not at all. It costs money to pack stuff and ship it across country. I promise you they aren’t getting rich on shipping costs. In fact, most suppliers have a minimum order, which WCR does not, which helps a little guy like you. WCR does so much to help business owners like me, I don’t even price shop them. If they have what I need, they have my business. Period. Their customer service can’t be matched

Several times a year WCR offers FREE SHIPPING starting on a Friday and going through the weekend on all orders. You have to check on this site to see when this is offered. Can’t beat that!

Hey jas1959

Thanks so much for your order we really appreciate it… Our shipping basically works like this:

1) - Shipping is NOT a profit center for us

2) -We unlike all our competitors are the only ones who charge shipping upfront. We have the most advanced shopping cart system available and we tie directly into UPS API (Application Protocol Interface) - Our competitors charge you shipping after your product has shipped so you have no idea what its going to be. We always present it for viewing before hand so our customers know exactly what its going to be.

3) - We are the only window cleaning supply house in the country that has no order minimum. You can order a $1 part if you like.

4) - At the end of everyday we review that days shipping “Charged VS Collected Report” - Thats a special custom report I made that monitors what UPS charged you the customer VS what we pay out to UPS for the transaction.

--------

5) - Our official policy is "when reviewing the charged vs collected report if we over charged a customer by $1 full dollar or greater, we refund your card back. If we under charge you by any amount whatsoever we dont even tell you and just eat the loss. If its less than $1 we DO NOT refund you because it would just get eaten up in transaction fees.

-------

6) - On an average day we lose about $50 on shipping. We are ok with that though because its a cost of doing business.

7) - A lot of our competitors also charge you for:

a - boxes / packing materials
b - labor pack the boxes

8) - We would never consider doing that, keeping our customers super happy, and literally thrilled to death with every aspect of our services is the most important thing in the world to us.

9) - Once a month at a random time, usually over a weekend we do a 2 day period of free shipping. A lot of customers wait to this time of the month to place their big orders. We usually announce this VIA our community homepage and our news letter if you dont receive that you can sign up for it here:

http://shopwindowcleaningresource.com/window-cleaners-connect

We really take a massive hit on those weekends, on average $5- 7,000 per weekend… People get crazy and order 20 gallons of liquid… We have no problem doing it though, because it keeps our clients VERY happy.

I hope that gives you some insight to how our shipping works.

Thanks so much!

I see were you are coming from and I have found that WCR prices are slightly higher than other suppliers BUT you get what you pay for. I have not bought a large amount from WCR but I am gong to be buying more just because of the knowledge they have regards the products. Call some of the other large suppliers and they know little to nothing about what they sell and i know this for a fact

But as was suggested wait and see if Chris does another free shipping weekend. And if possible buy as much as you can in one order to prevent smaller orders and your overall cost of supplies will drop.

If you also join WCRA prices are reduced dramatically. I also am a "small " guy. Owner/operator. Save your $ and join its cost effective in the long run.

I’ve actually found their shipping to be lower than my “local” in state supplier (who tacks on shipping after the order). On top of that I receive packages faster from WCR which is all the way across the country, another plus. I know when you first start out you don’t always know what you need, which results in multiple smaller orders. With experience you’ll learn what your future needs are, which will result in fewer orders place.

Have you ever tried shipping something yourself? Like an ebay item? Unless it’s small enough to send first class through USPS pretty much anything costs at least $8 to ship regardless of the value, let alone the cost of packaging and handling. Is what it is, order bigger quantities and it’s no big deal.

And don’t forget WCR Prime so you can fix your shipping costs for the year.

Also you could off set some of those shipping costs with a discount on items by joining the WCRA.

wait till orders are over $17 and bundle up

It doesn’t get much simpler than that. You truly are dealing with a very honest and decent company. And what’s better you can talk to them on this forum, on a daily basis if need be. That is a great tool of you happen to have any questions on a product or service they offer.
Hang in there, good luck with your business, and don’t hesitate to ask questions. After all, that’s why your here!

I wish I could double like that ^^

Also… has anyone noticed what gas prices are doing? I wouldn’t count on shipping prices dropping anytime soon. And as someone mentioned before: You get what you pay for.

I have taken my supply dollars almost* 100% to WCR just to make sure that I support the videos, the ingenuity for helping me place my orders, and the HIGH level of service that I get here. I know there are lots of guys who would shop somewhere else to save $1 (never mind that they charge at least $50/hour for their own time), but I vote with my wallet whenever I can (however skinny it might be).

*There are certain powerwashing chemicals or supplies that WCR doesn’t carry. If I need it, I always call or email to let them know that I am needing it to see if it would make sense for them to carry it or sell it to me. If they can’t… and only if they can’t… I will buy it from someone else. But I won’t like it

Definitely understandable. And I’ll give an example from my own experience:

Sometime back I was in the market for Ettore’s Contour Pro+ scrubber and squeegee handles. I researched WCR’s store and then thought “Why don’t I support my local market?” Surprisingly I discovered a janitorial supply store less than 30 mins from me. Checked the website - didn’t see what I wanted. So I e-mailed the owner, asked about the items, and pricing. The response was “Uhm, I don’t carry those. I guess I could check and get back with ya.” (I wasn’t in a hurry so I gave them 2 weeks.) And that’s the last I heard, even with follow-up e-mails. I guess the owner is/was doing well enough to not need my business.

The following weekend, coincidentally, turned out to be a “free shipping weekend” courtesy of the WCR. Placed my order and a box full of goodies was at my door just 2 days later. By the way things were packaged, I could tell that they didn’t want any chances taken that anything might be damaged during transit.

I used to price-shop until I realized that the difference was pennies for peace of mind. Now I’m like Larry. I’m a business owner and one of the things I pay attention to is how much time I spend on various aspects of my business, like tool inventory and such. Spending too much time on one aspect means some other area might not be receiving the attention it needs. And I believe that is one of the greatest things about ordering with the WCR. They know that when I know what I want, it’ll be here pronto. And I know that when I have a question for them, they won’t hesitate to answer.

My feeling has always been that Chris and Alex eat quite a few dollars during their specials, though I definitely under-estimated the amount. But take a look at their avatars: They really do believe in “People before profit”. They really do live it and serve it up as something for all of us to strive to serve up to our clients. Based on the family loyalty here, it’s easy to see that what goes around comes around.

The bottom line for me: The WCR gives me and my company soooooo much in terms of education, marketing, insurance, business techniques, etc… for free, well, the cost of shipping is nothing.

Supply and demand my friend, if I can go across the street and get a product I need I will do so. If I am in need of products I can’t find local then I order and you simply order more at once so the shipping make sense

I rather pay an extra $5-10 bucks and know how much shipping Is up front. I’ve ordered from other company’s in the past and you don’t know how much till your items are on the way, come to find out It’s $25 more than you figured.

Yes shipping is obvious if buying items online or from long distance and I always looks for safe services.
