Website design

Signed up for a godaddy account the other day, now it’s time to put that to use and build my website.

Going to attempt to work on it today for a few hours, if anyone has any advice/hints/tips about content and what has worked best on your site please feel free to share.

I’ve also been on the fence with using responsibid, how do you actually put the software on your site? Who uses it and could I have a link to your site to see how it works?

Try to use more of (you, your) Verses…I,we,our

Pictures…Clean, crisp and not to busy… Short, concise to the point message on front page.

Don’t have responsebid. Going to either have to ftp it. Or coded it to page.

John

Thanks!

Responsibid is so easy to install, you literally copy and paste 1 line of code into your site wherever you want it.

… and its so worth it

Wow… Welp then that seems like a no brainer to add it in there

Remember the difference between your web site selling approach versus fliers, direct mailers and soliciting. With fliers , mailers and door to door you are first trying to sell people on the idea of getting their windows cleaned followed by why they should choose you. Web sites are different. If they are on your site they are already interested in getting their windows cleaned so here is where you put 100% effort into selling yourself/your business.

Godaddy jacked the crap out of me to the point where I just finally said forget it and took it down. I wouldn’t wish godaddy on someone that I didn’t even like. If you Google reviews on them, you will see thousands of others that have had the same complaints. The ONLY way that I could get them to stop hitting my card was to report my debit card as lost and get a new one…

If you are new at it try weebly.com it’s super easy and they look good

Ive said it before and Ill say it again, Weebly and Wix sites get largely ignored by major search engines

Im starting to have the same issue with Yahoo.

I recommend Dreamhost

Hmm i I have built a couple for some friends and they get noticed if set up correctly. That is a myth

Also, I have seen guys that have great organic spots and their website look bad. It’s not all about seo and Weebly is just fine IF set up correctly

Thanks Guys,

I am currently working on stuff too. That advice about GoDaddy is really good. SEO Tech is very interesting. I went to a seminar on that once. Wish I had recorded the whole thing. Wish I still had the womans card that gave it.

Name.com and Bluehost

Yahoo and I are now officially at war. I have figured out how to transfer Yahoo Sitebuilder sites to other hosts without issue.
