Does or has anyone used visitor counters for your websites? If so, does it help you?
Its much better to use your hosts internal counters or a plugin that gives you exact info on things like visitors per day, unique visitors, time on page, entry page etc.
That, and counters can give a negative first impression depending on the individual.
I like analytics much better since you get more than just a number - such as location, entrance paths, time on site/page, page visits, etc. And it’s hidden.
Yeah that makes sense guys. After thinking about it, it would seem cheesy. Also if you don’t have many hits and a prospect sees that they may wonder if something is wrong.
Yeah visible counters were a 90’s thing… go with analytics. It’s really easy to setup, too.
Check out Google Analytics have it installed on your website! iView mine on an Android app I can check and see how many people have been on my site where they’re from how often what pages they viewed all in about 10 seconds

I also think it looks cheesy having a counter on your site. The counter is really only for your benefit. Like mentioned above I really like google analytics and you an put on each of your pages. Not only does it show you how many people are visiting your site it shows you from which city, what pages they go to etc. I used it for our carpet cleaning in las vegas business and highly recommend it!
Yes, we are using Google Analytics. It is helpful to see how many visitors per day. You can analyze the data.
