Good explanation! So drying your hands on the scrim works well mid-job to “re-dampen” it?
Hey Mike,
Married Man…Say it does work well to re-wet it by wetting your hands and and drying it with the scrim when its starting to dry out if your pushed to finish the job !
Yesterday I was half way through the job at about lunch time, so I wet it down rung it out and then went to the truck to take a short break break, and then hung it on my bed door to let it air out to get it to the right dampen stage.
After 15 minutes it was ready to go and I went back to work…
For sure it works like a chamois but way better, before I said I’d never use huck towels again, well now I won’t use a dry scrim again…Never !
The dampen scrim is a great tool and it works tremendously !

Yawl,
Another point or rather an enhanced point is, the dry scrim works excellent but the dampen scrim is far superior and produces a far better quality for clean windows !

Off topic… but Dange, whats the bottle of Extra laundry detergent in your van door for?
You holding out a trade secret from us? lol

seems im going to get into this wringing game, so far i havnt been able to wring out my scrim properly . i had sort of been hoping an old-timer would show me first hand but i have already waited 3 years without coming across a cleaner of the OLD SCHOOL variety . One time i saw a youngish cleaner walking quickly along with a wet/damp scrim worn as if it was an apron , perhaps he was drying it by walking quickly?
i have seen several scrims hanging up in the rear of a cleaners ageing Ford van, pegged up to the roof with 2 clothes pegs, could be thats HIS method of getting the dampness just right- a steamy “fug” created ,almost like a foggy atmosphere in there .
i have also seen a scrim laying on the wide dashboard of a big Merc car, while the owner ate his KFC bargain bucket- i suppose he was taking a 15 minute break, just as you did Dange, and he could clearly observe the scrims dampness as he ate his lunch
Hey Dange,
Thanks for the video! I have been playing around with dampness and haven’t really dialed it in yet but I think I may not be wringing it out enough.
how is the scrim you cut in half working? I have been using my scrim all week and really do think it is superior to the hucks but I have not adjusted to the size! I trust your opinion and wouldn’t cut mine if you said it didn’t function as well.
So, Dange, what do I do with my huck towels? Throw them in the trash?
Wow Dange,
Thanks for the great explanation!
Your Friend,
Jimmy
Screens? I’ve done it before just to try
Well Chris you are very observant, If I could I would tell you what is my secret ingredient… But it is no secret my friend, rather something I encourage others to try if they have a mind to…
We use the extra at home for our laundry, but the bottle its self is a great keep it dry container…I buy my TSP in a box so putting it into the plastic container keeps it dry and from spilling.
No big secret…
How have you been Chris are your boys still hanging in there, I hope things are going well for you !
Your Friend / Dangerous
Hey Dang,
I been watching what going on.
So I thought I get a few Scrims they sell them here as well.
Did’nt know what they were until every one started talking about them.
I just broke mine in.
I washed them in very hot water with washing powder, Let it soak in the water for about hour or so.Then rinse with hot water a few times…
Do that a few times it should be right
It’s like when you have a new dish drying towel never works any good until you have washed it a few times then it comes good.
They work great!!!
Hey HM…
Great to see your able to hook up with a scrim your going to love it Dude…
Say I need to email you about the handle you sent, but I working through it right now so I’ll get to you soon on it OK. Sorry for the delay my Friend !
I hope all is well with you, and I’m loving your videos…
Your Friend / Dange
Justin howdy,
I love the scrim cut in half that I posted on another video it works great I also love the full body scrim as you see in the video ! they serve well in there applications.
The one here in the video is English Jon,s sweet baby and I won’t cut it in half because that was a special gift from him to me , I think I prefer the full body scrim but cutting it in half won’t hurt a thing if you get it hemmed well. Their about the same size as a large huck Towel !
I think you’ll like the Trimmed-Scrim either works stupendously and even more so if dampened !
Work safe Justin…

Michael,
Hello my Friend… The huck towels are in my van in a container and used as back ups or
for secondary slop pick up if needed like on wood floors but hardly ever used now, they have been officially demoted.
Hang on to them ad use them as back up water boys !
Your Friend Dange
Your welcome Jimmy, I’m glad this video help put things into perspective for you !
I haven’t spoke to you in a while…How have you been ? Hows the window cleaning going ! Are your tomato’s getting shoulders yet ? Take care…
Your Friend / Dange-ster
Jonny,
Howdy My bud…Good to hear your going to try the scrim dampen. When made damp it works fantastic ! I’m loving the scrims, you helped to enhance me as a Window Cleaner Dude…
Yawl have KFC there ? Say how are your new employee working out ? Hopefully they are producing for you !
Take Care / Dave
KFC is a rare treat for me,as i must keep my weight down to keep pace on the ladders. Laddermen must be wafer thin if they are going to cope with a full diary . i usually buy KFC just when i go visit my mum, take her a 2 piece Colonels meal with me.
my employees,3 , are working okay. They are all part-timers ,each has his own merits ,so i arrange my diary accordingly.let me introduce them …
i have "mr.finnicky- he is excellent at detail but can be slow as a turtle as he cannot leave a window easily.maybe hes on dope, time will tell
then "THE KING OF I.B.S "has a bowel problem that is related to stress, but he works great if its not playing him up
finally "The Gasser " now he just wont stop talking ALL the time, good with a squeegee yes, but his voice really grates after several hours.
Jonny
Great to hear their producing for you… Say that scrim I see in your avatar, is that the same one you sent to me ? Cheers Tommie !
Dange
No worrys,
There is an another device I am working on at the moment, but you still use that handle.
It is a zero lift you just use the handle to hold on to the pole.
yes, that is the exact same scrim i sent you. it had worked 8 months on the biggest and poorest housing estate in the U.K. , so it has much history !!
