So far I have only used the Beta 2.0 brushes (flocked and soft single trim) with mixed results. For the most part they do an adequate job but on occasion they just don’t remove dirt from the windows even if they aren’t that dirty, I just see lots of brush marks. I get my ladder out, go over them with a regular old strip washer and they come clean with almost no effort. Different glass compositions obviously have an affect on the effort one is required to use when cleaning the glass. I am wondering what other brushes you guys prefer? The single trim also wore out very quick, only used it for about 3 months. It seems like a hybrid combination strip washer and bristle brush would work well. I am tempted to try some of the other brands but it would be nice to know what works well before forking out another $150-$180.
I use this:
I drilled two small holes and used a small diameter hose as my pencil jets (no actual jets, just the hose pushed through the holes). The brush is flocked, so I can’t really rinse with it on the glass, but the cleaning power is amazing. it gets the frame, sill, and glass all at the same time.
You can find it here: Ohio Auto Supply :: Shopping Cart - Wash Brushes
Brodex Sill Brush is a awesome brush for the price. I do residential only and I wish I has been using this brush years ago.
so I can’t really rinse with it on the glass, but the cleaning power is amazing. . .\QUOTE]
What do you mean you can’t really rinse . . . is it Euro or ACME threading?
The data on the BETA2.0 Brush Pack is available /water-fed-brushes.html
It explains the flagged and soft brushes are more for regular work - and we know now not to generalize - there are guys out there in 90-100 degree heat right now and other countries don’t get above 70 degrees.
The purpose of BETA 2.0 is to have the chance to try different bristles and jet combinations to learn what does work.
At the end, it does not matter the brand of the brush vs the pole - that is like trying to wear the same brand shoes as your shirt!
Different brushes work best in different conditions - the game is to work out which one is most efficient on which jobs.
Does WCR sell the Brodex sill brush Randy can you shoot me a link to it if they do.
Looks like they are still held up at customs right Alex Chris

Ok thanks Alex let me know when you get them in . How many jets are on them Btw.
2 pencil jets.
Flocked bristles tend to trap dirt, so I almost always have lift the brush completely from the glass when I rinse. The brush is kinda heavy, so if I’m at an odd angle it can get a little tricky to do that. The one exception I make is cleaning skylights at a low angle. There’s just no way to lift the brush and control it well, so I turn the brush up so one side is off the glass, and rinse a couple times with either jet.
It’s ACME threaded. I use the top half of an ettore standard angle adaptor along with the bottom half of a regular euro angle adaptor, to attach it to my carbon pole.
I have used mostly the firm single trim. From the BETA2.0 Brush Pack with good results. After 5 months it’s looking kind of ragged tho.
The flagged trim so,so the times i have used it.
Going to start using the dual trim this next week. And see if i like it better.
Kind of wish we could see a few more brands in the store. Salmon,Vikan. This brand looks kind of interesting to me.
Aerial Brushes - Tecbuk
Though a plastic scraper?? naaa not a fan
This looks like something cool to have tho SideTrack (Pivot Head) - Tecbuk
Could come in hand in some situations that’s for sure!
Seems like this would be a good discussion. Help some people by sharing which brushes you like best for different app. And which is best all around. Frenchies etc.
cheers john
I’ve worked with and tried many brushes over the years, not exhaustive of course
but my favorites are the ipc eagle hoghair for the super duper scrubbing power when jobs warrant it
my all time favorite I still come back too, even after working with other brushes like vikan, and the newer unger nlite is the tucker double trim nylon
that is one versatile brush
the bristles are dense for great coverage without the bristle marks, yet super light
the spread and reach of corner bristles gets tracks well, glass corners well and prevents the brush head from banging against the frames all the time
I always go back to it, so i guess that makes it my favorite. I have a pile of brush heads in a bin in the garage collecting dust.
Cool. I’m not the only one. Used this type brush to clean dirty windows. Cleans great and brushes left right up down sill hold water. So far connect to garden hose (its a car wash brush bought at Advanced auto. mine is grey) or dip in bucket to scrub. I have the same idea to add a jet insert near the top and do a bit of brush trim to be able to rinse with. One day I was doing a rental first clean. Scrubbed with this and used a garden sprayer to rinse with. Worked great. Would use WFP brush but most of these frames and dirt will tear up the good brush. I see what they do to a scrub brush to scrub the caked stuff on sills so wont tear up a n expensive brush. This brush is like a tank.
BTW think of adding fan jets maybe. I’m adding some to mine. Maybe get here in a few more days. Let you know how it works.
I really like the Reach Higher Ground 16" Hogs hair brush with pencil jets. It has great scrubbing power and gets into the corners really well. The only down side it that they wear out after a year or so and you loose the length of hair around the out side of the brush, I just got my 3rd brush and realized how worn out my old ones were… but at $90 or so they are well worth the money. The Vikan sill brush with pencil jets is also an amazing brush, so many bristles gives it a lot of body and scrubbing power, unlike the gardener heads which i have a couple of and found them not to be man enough for the job, not enough body, the bristles collapse too easily.
I was going to get the Gardiner medium dual trim but after using the auto brush I went with the unger radial. Mainly because on sale and wanted fan jets which getting the jet setup hose with jets was the simplest way. The Hogs hair and Vikan are thick as well, great scrubbers. I am going to modify my auto brush pole to fit with a Home Depot Mr. Longarm Angle Adapter and make into a WFP brush (without the garden hose). At first hand held capable for ground floor cleaning and eventually with the dbl gooseneck attachment for higher windows or get it its own pole. Since around here is 2 story, most 1st floor, I can get away with an unger pole or even a painters pole since american threaded will fit any screw type… Heck, I have fiddled with my 16’ pool handle. When I get more money I will get a thick flocked or hog hair
The Brodex is ok but if you get the cheaper brush, not good. The pencil jets are molded into the brush and the jets sort of spray all cockeyed. Just holes drilled into the head, brush actually cleans good. I stopped using it until I get me some new plastic fan jets (from someplace else, sorry. $6 a pair). Just drill out and pop in. Add whatever jet you like. I got the short pole with a brush. Liked it but those jets. I wish WCR had other brushes. Might try a Super-Lite Semi-flocked, dual trim. I used the auto wash brush (similar to one pictured above) Flocked, soft, really cleans well. Use it on move-out houses/first cleans and dirty windows. You need to cut the bristles and add jets so I scrub with that and use my sprayer fan setting to rinse off. Seems to work. I was going to modify another pole but saw a later post on how to do just that. Thanks Infinity!
2 favorite brushes so far. The Reach it “tough” brush. Cut down as dual trim. The 11" nLite Radius.
I looked at mine again. 1 is a simple 2 inch slot where water comes out. The second has 4 holes for water so really good flow when attached to garden hose. I have yet to hook up to my new pump. I might go to advanced auto and get another one. WalMart has a yellow one in RV section. What makes this cool is the bristles on both sides. Can really clean the corners, inside frame, and caulking better than any WFP brush out there. I was going to get a second because I am about to modify it by shortening its height. Reduce the weight a bit and remove a few inner bristles for the water to exit better. The square tip has a hole that I think the 5/16 hose will fit so could run a hose to feed water vice filling up the pole with water and use pressure. All the pressure can be sent to head alone which might make the holes jet more. My Brodex is like that, holes drilled into the plastic head. The hudson may be too weak for it but the 2.1 gal Highflo on my “frank” sprayer will work great.
