I’ve found some info by searching here, but I’m hoping for some direct recommendations. I’m looking to get my first system. My TDS levels are 50 to 130 depending on where I’m working and I’d to reach 3 stories. I’d assuming I’ll be doing a few jobs a month at the most (pressure washing and roof cleaning is our main gig). My budget for this is $1,000 to $1,200. What would you recommend?

John Lee, Josh Cronin I believe cover the phones on the weekends, but will be of great help

Maybe even use the pop up window

Does anybody use the pop-up?

I have used the pop up window a couple of times with basic questions, but I wanted some feedback from you guys since you do this everyday. Also, I don’t like wasting too much of someone’s time on the pop up window or the phone. I feel like that’s better suite for placing my order, which won’t be until next week.

I’m sure you’ll get the answer you need here.

So I’ve realized that my budget won’t allow for me to have a top notch carbon pole AND a multi stage system, so here’s my thought process…

If I go with the multi stage system and the aluminum pole, I will be spending less to maintain the system since resin will last much longer. Plus, I’ll have a better system up front. It will be a bit tougher on me physically when using the pole, but we are talking about 4 to 8 residential jobs per MONTH at the most to start with. I’m a big guy and use aluminum Unger poles to brighten gutters, which requires applying pressure, so I’ll be ok.

If I go with the single stage system and the carbon pole, yes, those few jobs we do will be a bit easier on me physically, but I’ll be flying thru resin quicker.

So I’m thinking that if I have to start off this way, I’m better of going with the multi stage system and the aluminum pole. Then as we add more clients on for this service, I can simply buy a better pole and then I’ll have an aluminum back up. Does this make sense to anyone besides me lol?

Get a waterfed pole backpack system. You can pick this up pretty cheap until you decide to fork out more money for a big van system. I hear the gardiners or big boy systems are good.

Backpack system?? I didn’t even know there was such a thing…

It is designed to be a backpack but I doubt many people could handle 25ltrs on there back for a day. You can turn it to a trolly system and add water containers to change water. Buy a decent pole and either an ro or a di depending on your tds.

What us the TDS in your area? You might be able to get away with the Unger one stage bag thing.

For my TDS, I don’t work really at all in my little tiny town (which is good since we are all on wells and have TDS of almost 200) so I took four or five zip codes from surrounding towns that we do work in and it ranged from 60 to 130. One came back around 150.

Based on the charts at WCR, I’ll go thru a full size DI tank in 25 jobs or so, assuming each one takes about 2 hours of cleaning time. So I would be r placing the resin every 3 months or so…

Is that a normal time frame?

What would I google search to find a local place? Di resin refill?

I do!
