We got a mixed bag of answers ranging from a social network, to a place to learn.
What is WCR to you?
To me it has become a community of friends and peers. Guys and gals that come together to laugh, learn and help grow each others business. Its the first and last website I check everyday, and of of course my favorite.
It really is amazing…
You could come here, with a technique problem, for example.
And within minutes, you’d have an answer that could have taken months of “trial & error,” not so long ago.
I see this the same as from your perspective Chris, it’s a community of friends and peers and new neighbors moving in on the block !
I too come to laugh, learn, earn, debate, discuss, But the biggest thing I really like here is to share the knowledge that has been past down to me and or I have learned from every class of cleaner in my time as a cleaner, from the Bucket Hound to “The Sons of Ettore”.
Secondly I like gathering from those who Share…From the New kid on the block to the old salt bringing in the catch !
WCR truly is a resource! A great community with expert members and staff.
WCR is like my home on the internet. It has its own button on my iPhone, and I think I’m wearing a hole in the screen from always hitting that button;)
I network locally with other wc,ers through the local wcing supply store. I have to say that if it wasn’t for this place and the encouraging things i read i may have already closed shop.
I hear much negativity regarding marketing and how ineffective advertising is in general . Heck you wonder why some of these guys even own a wcing business. I know that good marketing, and over all good business sense is paramount to my success.
WCR is my resource for thought provoking new ideas, concrete business practices, and marketing fundamentals that are a valuable asset to anyone in the service business.
a new user name - new pic. If you click on my profile page you can still see Q with his shades on. I also have pics of most star trek characters with shades on. I will rotate them every now and then. maybe not Seven of Nine. Those “borg implants” can cause a stir
I have been doing window cleaning 24 years, and in my town competition hated each other. As the years went by, lot of us branched off on are own. Some did it cool, others not so cool. In the end friends were destroyed by thing and getting help or asking a question don’t happen in Mid MI.
With this site WCR you can get a answer too a question fast. They have went out of there way to explain how too deal with a situation and you end up realizing, I’m not alone, people will help and do care.
Oh and window cleaning supplies are there, most with a video, how cool is that. You know about that tool before you order it. WCR answer questions asap every time.
The End
Well I feel WCR to me is a place to educate yourself with real world people who have “Been there done that” Everyone is quick to share what works and what to stay clear from. Also whether you like it or not you can always count on someone telling you how it is. Sometimes that what you need. WCR also is a place to get th3e DAMN best service in your window/gutter cleaning needs. For me I called WCR over the weekend and Chris answered the phone. I was in need of some tracking numbers and he told me he will send them to me on Monday. However i received those Sunday. The Customer service is above and beyond. WCR is the only place i will get any of my supplies!!
WCR Helping window cleaners succeed, one squeegee at a time!
WCR is the best informative (and funny at times) learning/networking workshop for window cleaning I have taken the chance to be a part of. And I have learned (later than I would like to admit), like everything else in life, the more you put into it the more you get out of it.
Thank you all for your posts and help, and thank you Chris and Alex for getting this thing a ROCK’N!!
8pm to bot BTW – Very happy to help… Fact is if on a weekend and I have some free time, Ill turn the phone on, I love talking to other window cleaners!
WCR and the WCRA is like owning a franchise without any franchise dues. You get all of the play by play information on how to build your business from scratch without having to pay the franchise a percentage of profit.
WCR to me is my home away from home. I remember how things were before I knew about it, I used to love to peel into an issue of AWC magazine that was free at the local supply house! Could not WAIT to dive into it. I was so new and knew nothing about nothing. I am still learning of course, but I remember when I joined on the site- it was and is still- a great vibe and cameradarie between everyone that truely makes me lose track of time on the computer.
Being able to see what the best in this industry are doing, and how they do it is motivational for me to become the same.
