What kind of reel should I use for 100ft 5/16th wfp hose

I would like to add 100 ft of Xero 5/16 inch Pure Water Supply Hose but not sure what I should use as a reel for it.
Thank you for any suggestions.

Where are you located? Somewhere in Texas I am guessing? Get to know your local hose supply specialist. They can point you in the right direction. I figured all this stuff out myself without asking the guys on the forum. Even if we tell you what we do, you will still have to go out and see for yourself whats up and whats down and whats sideways.

Having said that, the reel I would suggest is one with not too much plastic parts. In fact, avoid plastic reels at all costs. There is a guy on here somewhere who uses a retractable electrical cord reel for his wfp tubing. I am sure it works fine for him since it is a harder plastic.

And yes, that’s what I intended on linking to

For just 100’ of hose, I think hand-coiling into a small bucket is the simplest, most flexible option. Reels are great for managing longer lengths, like 150’ - 300’+

But learn the correct way to coil hose, by alternating the twist every other coil. That way it uncoils straight out of the bucket and doesn’t kink or tangle on itself.

Hey man, I was short with you in my opening reply – sorry about that.

Here is a reel I use and like:

It came with 1/4" hose which is just fine for the reel. I am sure it would hold your 5/16 just fine.

no worries my friend thank you for your time. much appreciated.

This one. I have several, with 100-165’ on each one. They store in small places and if you need more length, just get out a second reel.

I try to keep my systems as compact and simple as possible.

I’ve been using this little hose reel. It has 100 feet of 11.5mm and then 300 feet of 8mm hose.

It all fits in my little downtown rig with room to spare.

Dude man you are the coolest ever! That is priceless that bicycle powered rig.

BTW, is that a 22" brush? What brand is that?

Hey Cory!

Thanks ha ha. It’s a full body workout but extremely fun and satisfying!

It’s an 18 inch brush and works really well for commercial. It’s a Gardiner brush.

This is my beater pole with the heavy duty gooseneck and massive brush.

Some cool reels here.
i like all of these.

Ya I love my 18" (Tucker) brush. Was using my 12" today and was like “dude, where’s the brush?” It was so small and puny looking after using the 18 for a couple months.

Love your minimalist set-up. I was looking at getting that same Gardena hose reel, how is it holding up for you? Still using it?

Thanks! We keep things as simple as possible all across the board. Streamline operation… Optimize profit.

With this hose reel I am going on 4 years of use. Still works great! There’s a few edges that have chipped but it still functions like new.

Speaking my language. Awesome thanks for the review! Going to grab one from Home Depot. Do you find starting with 11mm first helps with flow, rather than straight to 8mm?

Yes, we find it builds up pressure to increase flow especially when we are going through long lengths of 8mm. At 300-400+ feet every little bit helps!
