What to wear?

I’m wondering what everyone wears while cleaning windows. I have worn khaki colored cargo pants, compression shirt with a light jacket over top. I wore this all last summer.

Florida where I’m at tends to be very hot and very casual. Most guys who work in the sun wear nylon cargo pants and lightweight long sleeve tees. Working in a polo shirt is a better image, but sweaty pits and a flushed face tend to negate that.
I had a bunch of quick-drying long sleeve tees made with my slogan and phone number for general work, and one nice polo with my name and business name on the front breast that is strictly for when I’m marketing and networking.

Navy blue cargo shorts or khaki. Was a T-shirt with logo on the back, now wicking polo with logo on front left chest. Yep, here in Florida summers get hot, so may be changing shirts as the day proceeds.
Hope everyone is having a great start to Spring!

Black khaki pants, In the Texas summer and a yellow shirt. I almost never were shorts while working because of bugs and bushes

I could probably shred denim in a week’s time.
How the heck people can pull off Khakis is beyond me.

I was just curious to what other window cleaners wear. I get dirty and have normal wear n tare.

pants/shorts: we switched to dickies as they seem to hold against SH well. Guy were wearing denim but one persons idea of “proper fitting” is anothers baggie pants.

Shirts: currently doing cotton t-shirts and hoodies. Fall we switch to heavy weight carhart.

Jeans in the winter, shorts in the summer. Moisture wicking shirts all year. Hoodie in the winter.

Just make sure that you’re free to to move

People pay extra to make sure I wear clothes.

Cargo pants and polo. If chilly (I am in Alaska) I add a vest and polyprolene long sleeve. Xtratuf boots or my old combat boots. Watch cap or sou’wester, the bill of baseball hats annoys me. My fur hat is an option but didn’t need it this winter, so much global warming.

Polo and cargo shorts.

Switching it up this year. I think customers can appreciate comfort and mobility trumps style.

Going to go with gym shorts with regular pockets and logo on bottom of left leg like a sports team and cotton shirts or possibly athletic moisture wicking type shirts with logo over left breast and logo on back. Going to treat it like a sports team no-pads practice kind of thing. I think customers will respect it. When giving bids will wear polo and khakis, ugh just the thought of wearing polo and khakis makes me feel uncomfortable!

I recommend Duluth trading company cargo pants, the comfort flex style is awesome, durable and dry fast if they get wet. They have cargo shorts too.

This stuff . I love my Duluth pants. After my first pair, I went out and bought 4 more so I would always have a clean pair. They are expensive but so worth it. Pockets for days. I can almost ditch my belt. They also handle splashing from OneRestore. They temporarily bleach out pink  but after washing, the color comes back (weird) http://www.duluthtrading.com/store/product/mens-duluthflex-fire-hose-pants-45507.aspx?kw=duluthflex&processor=content
They just released some decent length cargo shorts in the DuluthFlex fabric. Planning on some of those this summer. http://www.duluthtrading.com/store/product/mens-duluthflex-fire-hose-cargo-shorts-12-inseam-18254.aspx?kw=duluthflex%20shorts&processor=content
I also just bought some of the stretch cargo shorts at Costco. Much cheaper than Duluth. They will see duty on the hottest of days. The length isn’t quite as good as the Duluth shorts but it will be fine once my legs get a little tan. http://www.costco.com/Gerry-Men’s-Short-Oak-.product.100228310.html

I believe Duluth come with lifetime warranty as well. So when you wear them out you can get a new pair for free, unless I’m mistaken.

There are a few posts from disgruntled customers who couldn’t get a refund after trashing their gear. But, I believe that the company really stands behind their product to a reasonable degree.

Ha. Mostly sitting on roofs.
