What would you choose

Ok, I don’t normally ask the general forum for hardware advice, but since nobody really has any experience with the Brodex 36ft pole (unless they live across the pond), I figured I would “ask the audience” as they say on TV.

So my question is, if you were to buy a WFP, and the two choices were A: Gardiner 26ft CLX with a Reach Around and an AquaDapter, or B: [URL=“http://shopwindowcleaner.com/water-fed-poles-systems/water-fed-poles/36-brodex-economy-pole-with-40-reach.html”]Brodex 36ft Hydra aluminum pole (unknown if an AquaDapter can fit it).

Keep in mind that the Brodex is $100 less expensive, I think about 3lbs heavier and 10ft longer.

What would you choose and why?

I have the 36 footer and its a good economy pole… I even cleaned about 10 second story windows with it. I have a lot of poles to choose from…

Tomm Im doing my house windows, I would have brought home the SLX but its being used… So Im using a CLX with an Aqua-Dapter and A flip-fast. I could have taken home the Brodex but I went for the CLX. Lighter and a bit of a better feel… Both fine poles though…

Yeah the CLX has a great reputation that I don’t doubt for a second, but I do need a pole that can reach 3rd story windows and the Brodex has an extra 10ft, so thats pretty tempting.

Do you know if an Aqua-Dapter will fit it? If so which one, the first gen or second generation?

I didn’t purchase an Aquadapter when i picked up my Brodex, but I did ask Alex and he said it’d fit it.

That extra 10 feet for $100 less is worth it, kinda wish I got a longer pole myself, but thats my next investment

Your making this hard!

Check your inbox too.

The old school aqua apter will fit or the regular mk2

Oh man, how about that Flip fast too? With the Aquadapter, the Flip-Fast and a dual jetted hogs hair brush, I’m smelling the possible making for a 36ft Brodex pole and review.

Can you modify a Flip-Fast to have that reach around thing on it? Or can you modify a Reach Around to have that Flip-Fast thing on it?

Get an SL-X – you won’t be sorry.

I plan on it…though not right now. With the 13 day trip to Disney Land and a major event coming up (read costly)…I’m about maxed out. So I think the 56ft SL-X will have to wait until I save up a years worth of cigarette money. My gift to me.

Not an SL-56 (sectional); an SL-X (telescopic.)

I purchased an SL-X 30 from Shawn 5 months before I acquired any kind of pure water system.

Ok I had run over to the shop and look. I see what your saying. I hadn’t realized the difference.

Your not making this any easier either Larry! I wasn’t anticipating having to consider other poles that make me drool, being included in this;)

That thing even has the dual jetted brush…

The SL-X is more rigid and lighter than either CL-X (I have one) or Brodex.

Yeah and I want one.

Choices-choices…

Yea you can do that no problem…

Yes, the 26’ CLX is less expensive but it will leave you wanting more after a while. Do yourself a favor and buy a 30’ SLX. You won’t be disappointed. I know, I have both.

What Larry said, I’d save for the slx, I have the 26’ and a 35 clx that I hardly ever use now. When I do use it, I hate it compared to the cf pole. I see another slx in my future. I’d sell you my clx!

Well it’s pretty unanimous-- I asked WCers in the UK as well, what would they choose, and it was about 90% that said go with Gardiner.

In light of all the responses from both sides of the pond, it would seem that the Gardiner is hands down the favorite of window cleaners. Users have said that the Brodex is a good pole, but if given the choice, they would take a shorter Gardiner over a longer Brodex.

It’s hard to argue with experience.

I have all of the above on 2 of my poles and yes they they are the cats asz

Sweet!

The SL-X will pay for itself. It’s only expensive for one day. That’s the day you write the check. From that point forward It’ll be the cheapest pole you’ll ever own.
