What's the best coupons to run on a postcard or door hanger?

Hey Guys,
As some of you know, Im new to the window cleaning world. I have a carpet cleaning business and recently added window cleaning. If I had the choice Id go full time with windows over carpet. I enjoy it a lot more. I live in Michigan and spring is near so Im trying to get my spring marketing together. Im in between door hangers or post cards. Either way Ill be delivering them door to door.

Can someone help me out with coupons to run on the door hanger or postcard? I know every area is different, but if you could give me an example of offers you ran on marketing material that worked good it would give me a better idea of what to run. Thanks a lot guys!

Let me know too

You will see what works the best, but maybe it only worked best because you distributed them on a Friday; after it rained or there is a mohter-in-law convention in town and house wives everywhere are freaking.

The important thing is to hit them, and hit them often. Keep good records and overtime you’ll be able to obsess over the appropriate amount of data.

That said, if your handing them out; go for a postcard. They can be slapped into a door frame without skipping a step. Door hangers will take an extra 2-3 seconds a house.

I always ran a coupon giving people $30 OFF their first cleaning. That is what worked for me. Everyone is different. You just have to do some testing and keep track of your results. Once you find something that works… stick with it.

Hi fellow Michigander, check out my website and click on coupons to maybe get some ideas. Were about 20min south of you and this is what has worked for us. If I can be any help just PM me

Anything with the word FREE on it will get someones attention. It can be as simple as a FREE Estimate, a few years ago I did Free Mirror cleaning with all interior-exterior window cleaning jobs. That worked really well.

I always seem to do better with a $ amount as opposed to any % off. $ off seems to have more value to a customer

Same here… Real $$ always does better… % off doesn’t seem as real…

This is just my personal opinion, but I am always weary of $X amount or X% off because I assume the vendor just marks the price up to mark it down. Making me FEEL like I got a discount, but in reality, it not really being a discount.

SO I prefer offers such as:

“Schedule a full exterior & interior window cleaning prior to May 25th and we’ll add screen cleaning for no extra charge.”

The customer can put a personal value on the offer. They make think, wow! An additional service for FREE? I can’t pass that up.

Just my 0.02

I feel about the same way you do. Maybe putting a value on what you’re offering for free would be good. “Customers who schedule before May 1 receive Deluxe Screen cleaning ($120 value!) completely free!”

Or something like that. Then again, diamondridge thinks I clean screens in the homeowners bathtub, so what do I know?

hahaha, dude, i could not like this enough!!! when i read this post, i started laughing really loud. i nearly woke up a few patients because i was laughing so loud. i got some funny looks from another therapist also…

The Spring postcard you can get from the WCRA has both $ value and Free screen cleaning on it. It has worked for me and I am getting my summer one ready tonight.

maybe combined service discount with carpet cleaning. thats the only place i use a %. We do it with our pw/ exterior only jobs, seems to work out well.

Good Stuff guys! Keep it coming. I really like the idea of free screen cleaning with a value in parenthesis

I’m looking at doing another introduction postcard or door hanger (i have hanger bags) and follow up all summer with “we were in your neighborhood” postcards. I don’t know if I would use money off coupon (you may not have to) Creating a buzz and being seen regularly in the neighborhood might be enough! Good luck!
