What at Home Depot today and saw the Unger window cleaning tools. They had the Unger 6 gallon buckets for $19.99. 20’ Unger Pro Pole for $34.49. Had some new squeegee handles that looked a little like the Ninja but took a regular channel. All the prices had new item on them. Plus that were Blue instead of green. Like it because it matches my colors better.
Home Depot carries the homeowner level tools. These are less durable than the professional grade tools sold by WCR. Kind of like buying a screwdriver out of the bargain bin and expecting it to last as long as a Snap-On screwdriver.
Or buying a Porsche at your local dealer and then trying to go race it professionally without modifications. It’s just not the same class of equipment.
They are junk, lol buy from WCR
I am gonna be nice and not say anything in reply to this question… lol
I have an unger pole that I got from home depot. It has the blue plastic. I didn’t want to order a long pole from the internet. I hope it holds up. I think the green plastic is heavier duty - more fiberglass in it or something. Unger says the fixi-clamp is made from fiberglass-reinforced nylon. Is this what their squeegee handles are also made from? Maybe the blue plastic doesn’t have the fiberglass reinforcement.

the fixi clamp is pants! its made of a soft flexible plastic and has the jaw strength of a toothless old crone. its not reinforced with fibreglass, more like butter ! i have reinforced the outside of my fixi clamp with 1/2 " rigid plastic + fitted a few “teeth” made using wood screws
Maybe the Ettore version would work better for you. I use it for detailing with a pole and it works great. It’s sturdy and opens/closes quickly for towel changes.
Jonny “The Drill Press” Aid or Jonny “The Modifier” Aid, how is the South Side? signed the East Side D…
The poles look exactly the same. Just blue instead of green and are half the price. Buckets look the same too. I just didn’t see a top for it. Will just order one from WCR. They have that clamp thing too with a sponge.
to be honest im not sure what the "south side love " graffiti is all about. i guess i would find out if i hung around there at night !
After using both the Unger Fixi Clamp and Ettore’s version I have to say the Ettore is stiffer than the Unger. On the downside I left mine in the van all winter and inadvertently dropped something on it and it broke. There is a price for rigidity in this case.
I just switched everything from HD Unger to WCR Unger last week.
The WCR Rubber feels smoother and lasts longer.
The WCR Strip washers don’t seem to drip as much
I still use an empty $10 toolbox for my solution lol
You’ve been to the Mother-ship, yet you use an old tool box for a bucket? LOL… I think I hear a banjo playing;) And is that Possum stew I smell?
If it ain’t broken don’t fix it lol
True. Seems messy though. How do you carry it when there is water inside (handle is on the lid right)?
Don’t get the Pulex metal clamp - that thing is heavier than my 60’ pole!

I nearly fell down laughing when I read that!
What is “pants” ? Is that a British term? Cool modification. I’ve heard that the fixi-clamp was originally designed for holding a square sponge. It has special holes in it for holding this sponge. It’s seems like someone could invent a better tool for detailing with a pole. Overall, though, I have found Unger products to be very duarable.
Pants is British slang for useless.
