Anybody want to elaborate on what they use to clean windows. I use dawn and Ungers pill. I know there’s a lot of opinions out there on what’s best but I just want to get it here in one place.
about 1tbsp ecover and 1tbsp glass gleam 3 in about 3 gallons of water. it’s AMAZING. will change your life and u will clean glass 10X FASTER!
But the folks at Ecover changed their formula. What are you going to do now?
Everyone has a preferred solution - but to be honest a good window cleaner can get great results with pretty much anything. The solution that best suits your climate & choice of rubber will help you speed up & cut down on detailing, but there’s a lot of factors that mean one solution won’t fit everyone.
There’s even an addative for WFP now which some people say is amazing and others say makes no difference (“Vision” additive for WFP window cleaning from Jigsaw Innovations | ) but its all down to your unique setup & circumstances.
heard something about that. honestly, we haven’t noticed a difference. i think soap is choice overrated anyways.
Unless it’s GG4. eh?
Anybody try the new GG4 additive for more slip? They call it Glide.
1 Tbsp of Glass Gleam and 1 Tbsp of Ecover in 3 Gal O2
Eric: There are window cleaners on forums saying the new Ecover is not the same and that Dawn is better now. I think I heard it here on WCR.
I know. Me and my guys are still using it. Haven’t noticed a thing. We prefer straight ecover when using it with WFP because it rinses better than the others. Dawn for really dirty stuff like screens and windows that have been more than a year. Ecover and GG4 for interior trad WC
Hope that helps.
We are lucky, in my town, our local market carries Ecover products. I don’t have to spend money on shipping and get a new bottle when we go grocery shopping every week!
I use GG4/Ecover, I’ve got a few brand new bottles lying around that should last me a bit.
Once those run out then it’ll be back to Dawn/GG4

Try the “Vision” i think you will like it. For WFP.

I been using gg4 alone, cant complain about slip! Its not smooth like Ecover but I have little resistance and no chatter… Works for me, detailing is fast as it dries clear!
Lotsa good feedback coming in. I have to admit I’ve never tried ecover but here we have a 2nd hand grocery store that stocks it regular pretty cheap. I might try it but I do have to admit I like dawn. Also never used glass gleam. I use the pill but I’m open to trying a different mix.
Here in Montreal Quebec I only found ecover at Target. Bought about 40 bottles of their new formula because Target is folding and haven’t noticed a difference between old and new formula.

There are two super duper secrets to my bucket mixture. It’s frankly amazing.
First secret: don’t tell everyone everything you know.
Those are fightin words right there.
I like dawn because it saves the environment. Plus the baby seal picture on the front reminds me of an old cheech and chong skit…
I never believed in using “professional” soap, then someone on here sent me a small bottle of GG4 and I was sold on it.
It made the glass stay clean and shine longer than just the dawn i was using. I mixed it with Ecover to add some bubbles and slip, it’s perfect.

GG4/Ecover/EBC with a glide product added to the squirt bottles. We use DI water and mix it up 5 gallons at a time. We add the glide to each squirt bottle as needed as it seems to work better freshly mixed.
It’s not that I never believed in it. The guys I worked for would never buy it . So when I went on my own I tried it al I bought a gallon of everything one after the other. I’m back to using. Gg4 & ecover. I agree perfect !!!
Btw just ordered 30 bottles of the old stuff

I use my own formula. I am doing testing now to see if it is feasible to bring it to market. You can wash/scrub windows with a car wash brush, rinse with a garden hose and not get streaks or spots
