Where it all started

Back in the Summer of 1991 I had just graduated high school and was looking for a Summer job. I came across an ad in the local paper that read: Window Cleaners Wanted $10hr. I called, had an interview, and got the job. The company I worked for trained me for 2 days and sent me out on my own to bid the job, do the work, and collect the money. The owner would come around on Fridays to collect the checks for the week, handout pay checks, and replenish the supply of Dawn and rubbers.

Anyway, the other day I came across the original price list that I used to give estimates. Check it out. These are 1991 prices for the DC area. This was a residential company.

Not sure what my little notes are, but I love how I spelled pane. I barely graduated high school.

That’s cool. I like how it reads “no two windows are the same”… just sounds funny because a lot of them are ( I understand what they meant though)

There is a company in my service area that operates this way. They hire and train for a few days then send people out on their own to do residential.

just 2 be a jerk, if there are no 2 windows the same then why will screens interchange

Because there’s more to “same” then dimensions.

Location, access, level of debris, on-and-on.

Sorry; I’m crabby.

It’s cool bud, be crabby. none taken. I was just being a jerk
