Which pressure washer should I get?

I want to get into the pressure washing business:confused:. I want to pressure wash driveways, homes and fences. I don’t have much money to buy an expensive pressure washer. As I start making money, I will buy a better pressure washer down the line. I was looking at these two at home depot. Which one would be my best option?

Honda 2700 psi 2.4 GPM Gas Pressure Washer-UT80993A at The Home Depot

3,100 psi 2.5 GPM Direct Drive Gas Pressure Washer-UT80432A at The Home Depot

Keep looking. 2.5 gpm will waste your time. 4gpm is a good starting point. Upgrade when you’re ready from there

Check SAMs 4gpm machine. It’s been great for me!

You really do need to get at least a 4gpm machine, like one of the following:

Lightweight Aircraft Grade Aluminum Frame EZ-View Sight Glass No Welds to Crack, Break, or Fail General Belt Drive Pump, ( 3 V-Belts ) Gen. Pulsar Modular Unloader with EZ Start Valve 4GPM @ 4000 PSI, 13 HP Honda Engine 50’ High Pressure Hose with QC
Pressure Pro 3 GPM, 2,500 PSI Belt Drive

Expect to pay around $3k for your machine, hoses, surface cleaner, guns, cleaners, etc. If you’re just looking for a machine to make your first $3k, any one will do, because you’ll throw it in the trash as soon as you buy a decent start-up machine.

Don’t worry as much about the pressure as you do the GPM. Except for the flat work, you’ll have to use lower pressure anyway. Kyle (above) is correct. There’s a Pressure Pro 4000psi/4GPM at Sams for about $930 and that is a pretty good machine. You don’t want to do driveways and such with a wand - they tend to leave ugly streaks that will ruin your reputation. An “okay” surface cleaner that will work with that machine is still going to cost in the $500 and up range.

You can still do a lot with the machine and just plan on building up to where you want to be. In the mean time, do what all of us do… continue to learn!

If you have not purchased anything yet, think about this at Lowes, you can request Mover’s Coupon every 6 months and get a 10% discount. If you have their credit card, you can get 6 months interest free. So with tax, let’s say $700÷6=$116.67 per month to own it. If you can’t make those payments, you have a hobby, not a business.

Do you mean Sam’s Club?

IMPO, start with at least a 4000 PSI or higher.
Definitely go w/ a belt drive, if you have to borrow the cash from mom 'n dad do it!
