Tomorrow mid day, goals are established.

The sales goal dictates everything else.

However, my assumption is we’ll have enough marketing budget for 100k postcards.

48% of 2013 sales were window cleaning. Then we have plenty around 15%. I would assume we’ll be closer to 35-40% windows this year.

Way to coincidental you started this thread, I just pulled out my Direct Mail Marketing Magazine about an hour ago as I am plotting out my territory.
Started designing my first set of Spring Cards to hit the streets late March!

Nice! How many pieces are you sending out? How many have you sent out in the past?

Going w/ 1000 -1500, this will be my first attempt doing this.
I’m pretty stoked and can’t wait to dive in, the door to door is really physical that part I may miss.
I just can’t cover the area’s I need to get into on foot, so direct mail is definitely the way 2 go!

… Sending out 8500 pieces. All printed and ready to go since I never mailed them this fall because I was so busy already.
I have done a mailing each Spring and Fall since 2011 and this is the biggest yet.
Looks like it might be time to hire…oof!

Main service is residential window cleaning, about 90%

I am reluctantly looking to grow. I need to grow but I don’t look forward to having employees.

My goal for 2014 is to up my personal income by 1/3. The means: do more eddm and hire a helper. With that I think I can just about double my gross. Also I will need to be more efficient in the bookkeeping / record keeping dept.

Have 5,000 ready to go

So when do you all mail for those living in the states with the 3 seasons especially, me, mid March depending whether the Winter snows are gone.

We are doing direct mail 1 st time. Our goal 5, 000 a month or 1, 250 a week. Already have our order in. We want to double our revenue so we Need to hire 2 more people. We ve had an extra truck for about 2 Yrs now. We are praying to start mailing in 2 weeks time
We are also putting fliers out door to door at every job for the first 10 minutes of the job so hopefully we get estimate request before we leave that day.

Finding good employees has been a bomb for us so far. We have tried paying all ranges from $10-$17 to start but keep getting people who don’t want to work, no matter the pay. I guess that’s what its like in the State where pot is legal, go figure. Not sure what we are going to do about that. We put out craiglist ads and got about 20 applicants only 2 made it to an interview after calling them. Frustrating.

‘work ethic erosion’ this has been a trend/issue for national companies and corporate america as well according to several business
journals/articles

interesting since other articles are saying we are trending toward a service economy since mfg and other is more and more offshore now
