Water by itself is not a good cleaner. Additionally, the whole concept of wfp addresses the rinsing part (squeegeeing essentially) but not the cleaning part.
If the argument is that the brush agitation js good enough, then why do we use soap with Traditional?
Wouldnt adding the right detergents and surfactents solve much of the hydrophobia issues?
I was under the impression that the real reason for soap was for glide / slip. No window cleaning expert here, though. Looking forward to reading what the experts have to say on the matter.
Didn’t we do this discussion a few months back…
… I believe “we” as in a group decided hot water plus soap then agitate with the brush or scrubbing tool then rinse with pure would be the best process…
… maybe that was a dream I had…
purified water is a better cleaner than regular water, it naturally wants to gather dirt.
while the agitation is taking place there is a constant supply of fresh cleaning solution (water).
depending on your brush it can be far more powerful than soap and a scubber.
i just did a house the other day that really bad. while doing the inside i noticed a couple spots on low windows where i hadn’t gotten erything off with wfp, you see the lines throught the dirt from the bristles but i didn’t get even enough pressure and not enough agitation. my wfp was in the back but i had may inside trad stuff on me so i gave gave it good going over with a t bar soap and tsp. NO CHANGE! had to go back for the wfp which took it all off once i made sure to get the coverage right.
not that that would happen with every wfp brush i own but thats why some are in the oops bucket!
@cactus27 I heard recently that if you have a boars hair brush it helps with the knowing when the window is clean. Aparently you can feel the difference during agitation.
I have been doing this aged care facility on and off over the past couple of weeks, its super anal with safety all the security screens are screwed in from the insides and the sliders have anther feature so they cant be removed so the residents cant escape I guess but i have had to try clean the glass thru the screen without physically touching it.
What I did was to tape a 1liter container (connects to the hose and draws up the concentrate as a spray) to the spare reach it tip and then put it on the end of the pole and extent to get right up to the second story windows then (the whole place is on rain water so i barley even need to filter it) skip the Di tank and blast the screens with the pole and brush on and rinse the screens I just soaped, what I did notice tho was other windows that I just sprayed with the soap solution then rinsed with rain water were probably up to a lay persons standard.
