Wide Squeegee Channel on Changeable Orbital Handle

Just thought that try something different, have a sorbo channel on orbital handle already but that was fixed on it not changeable.</SPAN>

So made one that allows you to change your sorbo channels.</SPAN>

Will probably have to have a few adjustments.</SPAN>

You could do the same thing with any channel.</SPAN>

Then you have your favourite squeegee channel on orbital handle.

HE MAN below are links to a rubber moldable tool grip, first link the price is about half of what it would cost to buy direct. I picked mine up on sale from the first link for around $3.00 apiece. I install one on an Ettore handle that I use the most.

That could be some thing that would be good on the narrow bit of the squeegee handle near the squeegee blade.

You could mold it to your grip on the top bit, have a wider grip.

Good one;)

Good stuff, I’ve used it on contruction tools.

Don’t know if they sell them here though have to have look.

You can get a wide-bodied channel in a Wagtail handle - it’s a stretch, but if you take it easy it will go without cracking the plastic.*

Any details Karl? Warm up or heat the plastic?
Dale

Yes, you can use a heat-gun on low. But I never followed the wide-bodied route in the end. I found the channel slightly too heavy for the handle. If you do decide to go for it - Just take a look at where the screw is to where the channel goes in - you still need to put that screw in after!*

Tried to fit a sorbo squeegee channel on a Wagtail Whirlwind Disc with no success, just not designed to accommodate wide squeegee channels.

It also deformed the thread where the screw goes.

So as they say please do not try this at home

The smaller channels generally fit ok if that is what you like to do.

The way this has been done was to put a clamp for any sized squeegee channels on wagtail type disc.

As well as wagtail squeegees disc them selves could be fitted on.

This one would fit on the yellow disc without altering anything.

Without worrying about striping threads that hold the squeegee channel in.

This would enable you to change what ever channel length you wish.

You then use one handle for many different squeegee channel lengths.

Also as you may notice that the disc that holds the clamp is made of PVC board.

Which can be made with minimal tools.

And will fit on wagtail handles.

Here is something different!
You have the swivel directly over you squeegee channel check it out.

I’d agree with He-man, you will have a deformed holder on a handle that won’t return to it’s same size dimensions after. It does work, but you’ll only ever use it for wide bodied channels after.

dfw2020wc do you have any pictures of your tools with this stuff on them? Looks interesting,

Keep working on it my friend. What I sent you was just a start. Make it yours.

@de.fuller

Just made a 22" one yesterday. Isn’t as purty as yout 18 incher, though. I had trouble with the screw part and decided to take it out. I compensated with lots of gorilla glue. I’m guessing it’s strong enough without the screw.

I’m thinking an 18", 22" & 26" may be the perfect trifecta for storefront / commercial window cleaning.

Lookin’ good! I think you should be ok with just the glue. I have two long Ninja channels that I will cut the clips off of and attach to a blue ribbon handle if I ever have any store front/commercial to do.
