I need to do some window cleaning next week and was wondering if I could add a bit of alcohol to my pure water so it won’t freeze onto the glass. I’m thinking it’s gonna work, but don’t want water spots. This will be done using my wfp and my 12v pump. Thanks.
I don’t think alcohol will leave spots because many use it in their indoor pure water kit with no problem

If it’s just alcohol it will dry spot free. Alcohol evaporates extremely fast.
I’ve wfp in below freezing tempuratures before I started using hot water. In order to do so, I would put alcohol in my pure water.
Depends if the alcohol is pure or deluted with spotty water

I put a pint of isopropyl alcohol in my 4 gallon back pack and it works great.
Thanks guys. I’ll see if I can buy some locally tomorrow.
Most grocery stores carry isopropyl alcohol. I use it a lot during the winter and for interior work in hair salons.
I’m using a 15 gallon tank full of pure water. Any idea how much alcohol one would add? It’s only -8 ish around here. Or is this just one of those guessing things where ya throw some into the tank and see how it goes haha.
.
Just a guessing thing. I would just experiment and find the freezing threshold. Maybe there is some sort of trick out there but I wouldn’t know.
One pint per four gallons would be a good starting point.
What Mike said is a great starting point.
Did the job this morning. -7 with a wind. I added alot of alcohol to my tank and it still slushed up and froze on the windows. Not very happy with the results. The glass is clean, but has a slight water buildup on it. I hope when the sun comes out the glass clears up. Looks like I’m done for the year.
I wouldn’t WFP in that low of a temperature. Fahrenheit right? I think below 20* would be my personal limit. Below zero Fahrenheit is … well… insane.
If ya don’t mind me asking, exactly how much water and how much alcohol?
Yeah, I put about 1 & half gallons alcohol into a 15 gallon tank. I could smell the alcohol while brushing
