It looked like the window cleaner was schooling her on where to get an education. Which implies that he has an education… however, he’s in a harness, on a ladder, using a pole and a squeegee from lowes. He doesn’t seem smart because his hourly rate has got to be in the toilet.
But in regards to the meta-message, I’m not really sure what to make of this. Is an education a good thing? Sure. However, it’s neither necessary or sufficient for a good life.
If I had to do it over, I’d probably still go to school, but instead of engineering, I’d do business. Business students never have to learn vector analysis or differential equations. They don’t care about quantum or relative theory. I’m not sure what business students “cram” for.
I do know the only signal encoding and modulation they ever do is saying “Luke, I am your father” into an oscillating fan set to “high.”
But for all the math and whatnot engineers do, it’s the business people who write their paychecks. So they win by default. And a lot of the engineers I knew were either one lab accident away from being super villans or they had the common sense of a stunned duckling.
I guess I do enjoy the look on people’s faces when they ask what I used to do and I say “electrical engineer” then they’re all like “huh?” It’s also super easy to freak out your financial adviser on why he should never use Internet Explorer and why those new scannable credit cards are a Bad Thing.
But for those of you who found window cleaning early and love it, kudos to you because it took me a while to finally find something that not only appealed to my OCD but is just down right satisfying. If you need more encouragement than that, read the book “Millionaire next door” and see if that encourages you.
I guess this is my cue to give a little bio. I studied mechanical engineering with a minor in business at UT. (I can appreciate your Aztec screen washer Jared, I love it, thank you!) I liked business more than engineering, actually I liked moving around and talking to people more than sitting behind a computer so window cleaning is perfect. I might be a little OCD too. My wife and I work together most of the time. We also work with a campus ministry at Texas State University. (I also appreciate your signature Jared, thank you!) I love this forum. I love John Lee and his heart to help and counsel. I admire Kevin and his wisdom. (I got Whale Vomit Method, I still can’t find $600/hr.) I hope to post more and maybe even meet some of yall at some point. Oh ya, I hope I can be as cool as Larry some day
Forget the dance, the squeegee, the harness, the crappy song… He’s scrubbing the window… UP and DOWN with the squeegee… So if he has an education… It’s for math or literature… Not window cleaning… Lol

The Clearest Choice for Window Cleaning
If you thrillerize the commercial, I’d watch it.
Cool. You should of said “I’ve got my own equipment…” but that probably wouldn’t look “real enough” for them.
Oh snap. It’s probably Art Appreciation. Or depending on how brained his damage is, Political Science.
Oh, BTW, window cleaning ruined the first Matrix movie for me. It’s hard to pay attention to dialog when there’s a guy in the background doing the same thing as this commercial. Not to mention he must have been union because it took him that whole scene to do basically nothing.
Reminds me of Boogie Nights with Rollergirl and Julianne Moore
locked in a room, mirror covered in coke, drug rambling about “going back to school.”
