I am pretty excited! I just finalized a Window Cleaning yard sign order from sign2day.com. Thanks [MENTION=6510]Tim4[/MENTION]! It seems to me that there is a yet-unexplored (at least with signs of this caliber) field of marketing opportunity between the EDDM card, the mobile billboard (work van) and the impressed but somewhat-timid-to-refer-friends customer. I am looking forward to planting some of these eye-grabbers in front of shining windows for a few weeks and see how they pull. Combined with 5-(or 10)arounds of a cleaned-your-neighbors-window flyer I am hoping to really increase our top-of-the-mind exposure in these neighborhoods.

I don’t have a window cleaning bone in my body but we do clean some gutters in the fall. We collected a gutter cleaning check today that brings the total tracked to one job sign to $1,691.00. The trail of work started with a gutter sign planted two blocks away, around the corner. There are five or six jobs involved to get to this total. Not all signs lead to a sale.

We also did a roof cleaning earlier this year in the old money golf course community. First my accountant, then the Doctor, then the Judge, then the lady that just moved in to the neighborhood and then a resident driving by a job we were working on. Five really nice patio, roof and house washing jobs. It started with someone I knew but then it took on a life of it’s own.

We will sometimes plant a sign at a subdivision entrance but typically only use them in customers yards. We talk about targeted marketing and the power of referrals, the right yard sign covers both quite nicely.
