Anyone here doing window tinting as an add on service?
I have worked for a tinting company for 2 decades. Started cleaning window because the tint customers where asking who will clean there windows. I am quiting the day job in the spring to give my business all my effort. At this time I will be marketing Window tinting as well.
Any thoughts?
Nobody? I figured at least one person has done some tinting. Commercial and residential tinting is a breeze. It’s the auto that is tough.
I, along with many other window cleaners, don’t have any experience with tinting.
What your doing sounds like nothing but good money. Do the tinting once, and have a window cleaning client forever.

What other services did the tinting co. you worked for do? Anything relevant?
Commercial storefront is the money maker for them. They also do residential glass repair, shower doors, alot of mirror work and windshields. I have done all of this except windshields.
I am the one and only tinter when I leave they will probably shut down the tinting. He has talked about shutting it down before because it doesn’t make as much as the other services and the auto tinting is a hassle for him.
For instance when I do 1 house in a day by myself the bill may be 1000 or 1500. Maybe 200 to 300 in film that is huge profit to me.
It’s not about money for me. I just want to do something I love and make the decisions. And I’m tired of slicing my fingers,glass splinters, and dragging home glass chunks for my wife to step on.
I love window cleaning and tinting. Such a cool thing to do. We are very lucky to Be window cleaners Imo.
Window tinting does require a different skill set but could be easily learned just takes years to master. Tiss the nature of the squeegee!
Window tinting is an add on we offer. We don’t advertise it widely, but it is listed on customer literature. There are some local people who specialize in tinting and I have a good relationship with them and have referred business to them. It can be a profitable business, but our plate is full enough we don’t need to take on another cost driver at this time
