I use to do Hi -Rise work and never trusted stages due to,Too many accidents happening. I always checked my ropes because i knew if i didn’t i knew i probably wouldn’t of had to ever worry about it again. Dangling on ropes when i lived in Hawaii working for a company we did some tall buildings …Some were 30 stories and some were close to 50 by the time you were on the roof. So i learned very quick on how to tie the right knots and where to tie off from. I worked for Northstar window cleaning back in the 90’s dunno if they are even still around ! There were some guys that i worked with that would get stoned ( smoking ICE ) before they would go over on a 40 + story ! I told them i hope you dont get in a bind because i will leave you there. Just thought it was pretty stupid to put yourself in that situation. Surprisingly no one got hurt !
If I knew a co-worker was endangering their life or using drugs on the job I would report it to management. Everyone owns safety and I wouldn’t be able to live with musel if something happened.
Very true … But when the owner is not responsible its pretty tough to do anything about it . But i did leave the company when he started screwing around with my money. I told him i would throw him off the tallest building with 25 ft of fishing line around his kneck.
For the last couple of days i have been working with TRACTEL stage systems and watching inspections being done ,I now have more confidence in inspection reports. Yet again the basic rope and harness saved thier lives. yet last week i was watching a secound building from the one of i was on where three stages where working all two line. not one safety rope was out and only two out of six had harness on
after a few photos they no longer work on that building
