Work vehicle cargo van or truck?

What is the best vehicle for window cleaning? Van or truck? I keep trying to decide, trucks are nice because of towing and open bed options. However a cargo van is nice because I can lock up all of my equipment and store overnight. I have been working out of my car and now that I finally have some money, I am going to find a good work vehicle. I was wondering what everyone prefer to drive for work. Do you have any suggestions? Thanks for your help!

@dcbrock may soon have a Sienna available…

However, more info is really needed to help your question. What gear do you haul now, and will you need to haul more in the next months or years?

My gear includes a wfp g and ladders and DI system, sometimes a power washer. I do both storefronts and residential. Each day is a bit different. I have been managing with my Honda Civic. But I think I reach the point where I need a true work vehicle, the equipment I haul is just destroying the inside of my car. I am leaning towards a Dodge Ram cargo minivan. Found a used one with 175k miles for $4k. I haven’t made up my mind yet, hoping I can hear the pro and cons of each vehicles, and any suggestions

Depending on your service area type a well designed and planned out cargo bike can be the most efficient and profitable method of transport. Big things can come in small packages. When something is against the grain it stands out and markets itself.

As mentioned, I’m in the same predicament. My Sienna is ok for most things but one drawback is the vertically opening rear hatch. I have to duck every time I need something in the back…which is a lot. My ladders overhang so the curved door hits them.

Frankly I’m heavily leaning toward a full size Chevy Express right now, just concerned about outward visibility.

I drove a fullsize van for a couple of winters way back in my early 20’s. It wasn’t that bad. And we did some restoration jobs in tight, backwoods driveways. I actually didn’t mind driving the van.

See if you can find a friend who’ll let you test drive their van.

But I’ll also add, I really like my Tacoma. Though it didn’t really drive enjoyably for me until after I installed the Orange Virus Tune.

I’m a van guy. All your gear is protected at all times from the elements and spying eyes. It can also be used as an emergency bathroom or changing area when you need it.

Chevy Astro cargo. Cheap, reliable, great on gas and tons of space with out being to huge on the road

It all depends on your situation, I use a truck (Toyota Tacoma sr5) with a camper shell. I need a truck because I have 3 kids , works great for my circumstances

now theres a modern housing tract!

is that like san elijo hills or something?

Vegas baby , about 2 million starting price

I have had both. Van beats truck by a long shot. Carry more stuff. More organized and secure. Rolling billboard when you get the wrap. You can have the rack if you want it. You can still tow something also. If you don’t want to tow something, you have plenty of cargo space.

Nice !! Now get that baby wrapped , or lettered up :sunglasses:

do you have the weird windows with huge overhangs on that one? Almost all my 2 story in those communities are that way.

This one has it on one window on the second floor , but I do another model that has like 3 of them on the 2floor . Such a PITB
