Would a 6" squeegee be small enough to do like small french panes or small pieces like you’d see on front doors etc… ?
Can you get a squeegee smaller than 6" anyway?
Also want to add:
What do you use in the winter to keep the slip from freezing?
As you can tell I’m just now adding window cleaning to our services list…
Thanks guys!
Can get pricey, but if you have a lot of French panes to do regularly, this is a no-brainer; you’ll make up the cost of the channels and rubbers in the productivity gains. To add to Don’s methodology, one could get a Sharpie and write the length of the channel on the channel itself, like “5.5 inches” on the back side. If fading’s an issue, engraving it into the channel could work too. Again, pricey and time-consuming, but it all pays for itself, if it’s a return job with hundreds of French cut ups.
The cost is not very high, especially if you have lots of them to do. Just buy 3 or 4 24" (or bigger) channels and carry them, a hacksaw and a file in your work truck. Cut off the length you need and mark it. I also carry a 3.5" squeegee in my work belt all of the time.
On my residential window cleaning belt I have a small brass squeegee, not sure on the size but its under 6", that has been my go to size for 85% of panes next to my front doors. I keep that on my belt as a full squeegee at all times in its own loop. It’s always a good investment to have different size channels big and small.
If brass costs too much just get some stainless steel ones to cut down to custom sizes. Labeling is a big help but I have been way too lazy to do that myself
