Recently got a 2" razor since i rarely scrape entire windows. Not sure if they are sharper than the 6" blades but omg i sliced myself good yesterday…one of those cuts that’s so deep it’s not even red, it’s white. I was afraid to really look at it any more closely. Customer gave me a band-aid but within minutes i was dripping blood again. Thankfully, there was a CVS across the street and i rushed over there for gauze and tape. Instead i found this:
Worked amazingly. Will always be keeping this in the truck in case i have another mishap. Should proly start carrying some other first aid items as well. Anyway, just wanted to recommend this product if you’ve never seen it before. Very effective and simple to use.
Yeah I always keep bandaids, Neosporin, and wet wipes in the truck. For a deep wounds might want to carry some tape as well. Wrap it around the bandaid until you can get home. Pressure is your friend for drop cuts.
The wet wipes are also handy for after you finish that sketch job downtown. When you’re hoping that the sticky stuff is mountain dew.
In my house tote, and on my truck, I carry:
Band-Aid Tough Strips (Fabric)
Automotive Rubber Gloves (Thick)
Kotex Pads (Better than field dressing)
Super Glue (for small cuts)
Triple Antibiotic Cream
Hydrogen Peroxide (Not as painful as Alcohol)
Electrical Tape
Might sound like a lot, I’m an Army Vet, never had to leave a job sight and kept the infections down to a minimum.
Lol @BostonMike good old duct tape trick…used it many times. We had a mirror snap and drop on my partners head and I wanted to duct tape his hand to his head to hold pressure LOL…he didn’t want to sacrifice his man-bun

That’s what i was thinking, actually. Been using razors very regularly for over a decade and was always kind of obsessive about razor safety. Don’t know why this new one got me like this, but i was seeing it as a nice warning to be more careful with it. Kinda scary, it cut me so easily, so cleanly, and so deeply…it coulda been so much worse. Had it hit a different spot or gone a little deeper…sobering.
One day I’ll tell my avocado story…that was another close call.
Oh geez, I don’t want a ladder incident to remind me to respect them! That’s a big reason why i got a wfp, actually. I’m pretty religious about ensuring proper angle and doing a “bounce check” before every ascent, along with not reaching too far. Hopefully, that will keep me accident-free.
