Another tidbit is oxalic acid is the main ingredient of rust removers for carpet cleaners.

I think Oxalic acid is way more dangerous to the user than to the glass. The MSDS for this product listed it as a liquid oxalic acid. At 10 percent. Probably the rest is water. It can be bought at 100 percent. As such it is a dry crystal powder. It is an organic acid.

Personally I would not use it as a solution for cleaning windows or removing hard water spots.
