Does anyone else have this issue? Using the xero fish scale cloths eats away at at my skin, just absolutely dries them out and I end up with dry peeling skin all over my towel hand. It gets very annoying when this happens day in and day out.
I don’t think it’s that specific cloth towel versus just any cloth towel (especially cotton). I struggle with severe eczema on my hands, by product of work, other life things, environment, food allergies. Cotton towels strips the natural oils from your hands. You could be looking at, like I figured out, a more complex issue (eczema exacerbated by some food allergies, dairy specifically, mixed with the other factors mentioned).
I would recommend getting used to using hand lotions, not just any but something eczema related, Cera Vee or BioDerma specifically seem to be the best (I use the latter).
I also now work in gloves 100% of the time, if/when I don’t my hands get F%&#ed. I wear thick black nitrile gloves with a pair of quality thin rubber palmed work gloves over them (this keeps the nitrile from breaking the moment they contact stucco and I can use them for many many jobs this way). Took a minute to adjust but find something that fits tightly, isnt overly grippy and give it some adjustment time.
Good luck, it’s a real annoying thing but I think you can fix the issue and after you get used to the different solutions, you will be WAY happier to not have cracked and destroyed hands. This can also be a dangerous vector for bacteria to enter your body…thats another story but I got an infection IN my elbow via my cracked hands, it was serious, I’m young and healthy and it almost put me in the ER. not cool.
