Yard Signs

For those of you who use yard signs, the 18 x 24 kind, do you use an online printer? If so, who?

I’m looking to have some made. I’d rather not, but there’s a local guy blasting the area with them. I need to level the playing field some.

I’ve talked with several local printers and also looked online. The price gap is huge. Locally I’m looking at $1500 for 100. Online they’re as low as $155.00 for 100. That’s so huge of a price gap that I’m wondering if it’s legit, good quality, or what the catch is.

So if somebody’s had good success with an online shop, or a local guy willing to ship, please let me know.

vista print has all kinds of stuff cheap…only thing i can reccomend is spend a little on the business cards…great stuff though…i got a yard sign free too.

Micah, I have a local guy who will ship. He is great to work with. He does all of our signage Lawn signs, and trucks etc. I can send you his info if you would like!

Go to http://www.gwennies.com/ and ask for David Graham. He is the actual printing company for most of the online sign printers. He will also send you a proof free of charge. Cut out the middleman.

Metal H stands are expensive no matter where you go. We buy them and cut them in half with metal cutters. Youll save big bucks doing it this way.

His quality is amazing and the price is great. You wont be disappointed. The guy has a great personality too.

Thanks for the replies. I may end up buying a vinyl plotter. It would be cool to do several different sign layouts and see what works best, or be able to print out special signs for a particular offer.

I have a lot of commercial accounts that have the business hours on paper signs taped to the door. I bet they would pay 20-30 bucks to have a nice sign displaying it. I’d almost put it up for free just so I didn’t have to mess with a paper sign…

Then again, I may be too lazy for all that. I may just order them.

Micah, for around $400.00 making your own seems to me to make a lot of sense.
Change your message any time without having committed to a bunch of signs that don’t work well, advertise different services thru the year, letter your truck and even sell signs to others.

Yep Kirk.

Check out eBay. UScutter has a “store” there. You can get a 34’’ cutter for around 289.00 with software included. You still have to consider the cost of vinyl and sign blanks, but that’s marginal.

if you see one called a rabbit, stay far away!!!

This is my wife’s business and I will tell you that that cutter is not all that it is cracked up to be, also the weeding, and setup and learning curve is huge.

Why not find someone local that does that, buy the blanks, get them to cut and week, then you assemble and place. Much better, all you do is give them the layout and they take care of the nitty gritty slow, time consuming process.

trust me on that one…
you can also do vinyl on t-shirts so you can customize your logo wear with them as well. check it out
