Anybody ever here of Zaarly ?
Never heard of them. But looks like another lead generation service like the rest.
Someone needs to start a reverse lead generation service where service providers can rate customers…
No, but I’ve heard of Ziggy Marley
No @Luke I have not heard of them, did they reach out to you? If so what was there story…
ya another lead service …for real there needs to be a service that rates these companies lmao
Home adviser is almost on stalker level with us …zaarly is a local company …so far cant even answer or return a call. They are all pretty much worthless. Next door is the only useful one imo
At least I’m not alone on the whole home advisor thing. I have told the same guy that called me almost every day for three months to quit calling me I was not interested and eventually I just blocked the number. Two days later, he called me from a new number! Then they started emailing me every other day. Worst idea I’ve had, looking into that. When my phone rings from spam calls more than actual customer calls it annoys me. Especially when I’m trying to work. I’ve blocked about 15 numbers so far from them
“Luke we just bought Angies List …”
Ugh yes I know what you mean! I don’t know how many times we’ve asked nicely and not as nicely to stop calling.
For a while I wasn’t getting bothered very often by Home Advisor and it was nice. Then I got home and my wife says she signed me up and they’ll be contacting me to finish the process. I was like “NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO!”
Oh man!
I know how everyone feels about getting those solicited calls every day. Now I NEVER answer a phone number I don’t recognize. If they don’t leave a message, then it is not important. Then I immediately block that phone number. Now I don’t get that many phone calls. Maybe one a week. It has been so nice!
I do that exact same thing now. Saves so much hassle!
The owner isn’t in right now. No, he’s never here. I can take a message if you like.
If I did that, I would lose a lot of business. Most of the seasonal people have out of state numbers.
I answer the call. If it’s a sales call, I hang up and block it. I’m sure my blocked call list is a long one.
We have two or three common area codes around here, and if it isn’t one of them I won’t answer.
I had a girl I went to HS with stop me and pitch SEO to me. It was really random. I guess we both moved an hour away from our hometown. I didn’t recognize her and only vaguely remember her. But she went into her sales pitch, and she never once asked me anything about my business goals.
For example, she said something like, “I live 45 minutes north of here and I’ve never heard of your business. We could get you a lot of work up there.” And I’m like, um…we’re booked 3-4 weeks all year, and you want me to try to get a bunch of work 45 minutes away…that wouldn’t even make sense.
And she says “You can always say no if the customer lives far away.” And I’m like, okay…so I’ll buy your service just to get bothered with out of area service calls?
Also: “Its only $800/year, so if you get just one $800 job, that pays for it! Anything after that is profit for you!” Thanks. I understand basic math, too.
And my favorite: “I googled your business name, and no Google landing page came up. That means customers can’t find you!” Then she held up her iPad to show me, and she was right, there was no Google landing page. However, in the same screen right underneath that was our website.
Long story short: Sales people who think you’re an idiot get on my nerves. Like, you’re just a stupid window cleaner, let me explain how to make more money to you.
It bugs me when people say things like this. When they do, this tells me they have zero math skills and know absolutely nothing about business!
When is our cost ever ZERO on a job? Who has a zero dollar daily fixed costs? Who works for free for the day? Gas station giving away gas that day?
Sneaky SEO jerks. They give companies like mine a bad name. Its literally in newbie SEO training courses to lie to customers to attract their biz.
As far as Zaarly or whatever it is goes, these lead gen companies are cannibalizing themselves. It seems every week another one is popping up.
