A logo I'm ok with (so far)

What scares me is your familiarity with a “goats ass”.

.

Lmao. Too funny!

Yep. It should say in huge letters GOT DIRTY WINDOWS? Focus less on your brand because your too small to brand yourself. Focus on getting people to call you with a message clients can identify with.

One is never too small to brand. Nonetheless a logo does not make a brand. That could be another topic I think we should all look into a bit closer.

I k like it. Got dirty windows? It has a nice ring to it.

Your right. I really don’t like the squeegee thing. I’m back to the drawing board.

Your wasting too much time and energy on this. At this stage your logo is not that important. It will not distinguish you from your competition. Leave the squeegee. It is simple and conveys what you do. Save the fancy logo to when you cross the millions a year or more mark. A logo will NOT set you apart from your competition at this stage. What sets you apart is your reputation and your relationship with your customers.

Check your analyzation of your company. You are a small business. Do you know the definition of a small business? It is any business that does 99 million or less a year. A large business is one that does 100 million or more year. Let’s revisit it when you are a big company. For now focus on your message and relationships. Focus on messages, not logos,to wake up prospective clients and get the phone to ring now!

So your saying a small business should wait until they make their first million dollars before they begin to think about their brand or logo? I focus great deals of time on marketing strategies on and off line to get my phone to ring.
In fact I’m in my second year and just now at the point to where I should think about the future, my brand (trust) and logo (image). No it will not separate me from my competition, and that’s not my intention. But in time the image will associate the trust and value as a business. We as humans always associate what we like by the image portrayed in our minds. It’s an age old concept. Take Alchemy for instance. Is it a science or simple meaningless symbols? The symbols mean something. So should my logo and brand. It should represent what I am, as a business (person) and as a service I provide. I’m sorry but I cannot agree with your take on a small business is too small to consider positioning itself unless it reaches the millions of dollars.

Rob is trolling again. He’s made noise here before. He is a hit-and-run specialist. His argument is not new here. But it is not the only correct approach. It’s simply a different one. You don’t need to gross $100 million to justify a smart, well-thought-out logo.

I agree it is not the “only” correct approach. I am not against a logo. My point is he is new and designing it himself. Simple is ok for now. Why?

More than likely as he grows his “brand” will evolve. As it does so will his “logo”. Let’s be realistic here. He is a professional window cleaner,not a professional logo designer. Just like a homeowner who tries to clean the windows themselves,the results will be inferior. However if he truly wants a logo to last through his evolution he should hire an expert graphic and logo designer. That is what we did with Truckmountforums carpet cleaning forum. It has paid off handsomely and has lasted throughout the evolution of Truckmountforums. We have had it “tweaked” by the same designer but the basic concept has not changed. Here is the original design from almost a decade ago;

What you say is rather amusing since you really don’t know anything about me. My professional background for the past 10 years has been in graphic design and yes logo design, for businesses of all sizes. Why am I a window cleaner? Because I love it. I became loathsome of working for big heads and sitting behind a computer.
I know my logo will evolve over time and I might even change it in the future. Right now I am simply beginning to work on a concept design. I thought I would share. But damn why get so irritated at a new business for spending time on his brand and logo. Thanks for the input. I’m still in the creative process.

Oh and if you don’t mind, I’d like to see the current logo.

Simple is good. The biggest companies in the world use the most recognizable logos in the world, and they are simple. But Rob said “Your wasting too much time and energy on this. At this stage your logo is not that important.” That is nonsense. A logo may not be the most important thing right now, but it’s not unimportant.

I haven’t spent much time on it really. It only took me what 30 minutes to create it. As I mentioned in my first post my font will always stay the same. I’m just working on easy simple tweaks at this point. I reading a great book by Simon Middleton about brand building called build a brand in 30 days. Now he’s not saying a brand is built in that amount of time it’s a 30 day book read and shows how a small business should go about thinking an working on what to consider when doing so. Hey Shine,

I have been wanting to come up with a logo for my new biz glass smart products. I would like to create it myself. Don’t want to do Illustrater or Corel. Too complicated. Is there any freeware on the net that might work OK?

Thanks so much!

By the way. Even with the squeegee your logo looks totally fantastic!

Henry

If you are a graphic designer by trade then you certainly don’t need our input. I wish you success in your logo and new endeavor.

Yes. Inkscape.org is open source. I’ve used it in the past and I liked it pretty well. I’m sure it’s much better now.
