If I understand correctly to have a customer place a review on Angies List they have to pay a memebership fee. How do I ask a customer to please place a review of my work and by the way you have to pay a fee to do this.
That’s incorrect. Non-members can now post reviews too, but they don’t count towards your grade.

i dont think you can post a review if you are a non member. i was checking it out and it looks like the only way to get in is paying. $35 per year.
they dont let you advertise unless you have 2 reviews. I’ve been having trouble getting those two. I’ve been asking customers if they are on angies list and havent had any. was thinking about paying for a customers membership so they can leave a review, lol

lol. ok. can you tell me how to check things out without paying for a membership?
I was looking and it seems like you can give a customer a survey that they can mail in. i guess they could do that as a non member
Did you register your company on the business owner’s site?

What I have done in the past is print out the form but only the side with the review on it, I have my employees get customers to fill them out and bring them back to the office, this provides good feedback, especially the neutral or negative ones. you then take the ones you want to send in and print the free return postage and address on the back.
I have also offered free memberships to good customers who want to use Angies list. pay for their membership, and they already have a review to write.
yes. but that doesnt allow me to view other companies listings does it?
way to manipulate the system!
no for that you just fork over the cash… if you plan to join let me know, I get a bag of M&Ms if I refer someone…
Nope just your own. If you want to read up on your comp you gotta pay up.
And to that other dude… Back off! Those m&m’s are mine!!!

Angie’s list is good, but one negative review from a less than reasonable customer and your toast. I had a customer leave an overall B rating because she thought my price was too high. I had already had a discussion with her over my price and reduced it only to have her leave a B rating complaining that my price was still too high. What was so annoying to me was that she agreed to my already reduced price and then went and left a B.
Furthermore, for every year you pay for enhanced listing they raise the price by at least 100% or more the following year. Im presently engaged in a running battle with a salesman over the unreasonable price increases. If we were to do the same thing in our industry we would have no repeat customers.
In our are 256 window cleaners are on “Angie’s” list, I have thought about it but I’m not sure that’s a list I want to be on. Thoughts?
It costs nothing to register on the list. I have 40 grade A reviews and 206 competitors
What are your concerns?

Little bit saturated,
Noticed only 124 in your market, how’s it working out?
Really well. I like the quality of their clientele, most aren’t just price shoppers

We’ve gotten a mixed bag, as far as price consciousness goes, but I think I would recommend it overall.
Angies List has worked pretty good for us this year as well. I’ve paid zero. We went back and forth with the guy about advertising. I may in the spring but he really pushed us to now. I don’t like pressure, it’s a turnoff. Don’t know if I ****ed him off or what, but my new reviews aren’t showing up. I’ve had 4 that I know of, they all said they were going to write the review and nothing has shown up. The last one, she wrote the review and submitted it while I was at her house. It still hasn’t shown up and it’s been 7 days. What up with that Angie?
Does anyone know if you are maxed out at a certain number of reviews before paying for advertising? Somethings going on…
Contact the reviewers and ask them to ask Angies’ why their reviews are not showing up. If they are paying members they have an axe to grind.
