Booty Boots alternative?

I love our Booty Boots and need to order more but they are never in stock…I know it’s not WCR, it’s BB themselves…they seem intent on blowing opportunity.

Is there a good, non-disposable, alternative out there?

Good question. Before BB’s I used the blue rubber shoe covers and they worked pretty good (great grip on ladders), but doing a quick search I didn’t even see them anywhere. I guess good booties are hard to come by these days.

Slippers are my choice

Lebowski style, sweet!

Yep super comfortable, great to brag to your friends about your job, but suck on a ladder for any length of time

Thats for sure!

Maybe I missed something but what is wrong with the disposable? I use them everyday and never have to clean them, just throw them away!

Trevor, do you prefer long term or single use booties?

We used booties for a while and still do on particular jobs. Now we have it standard that the person working on the inside removes their shoes or boots at the door. We saved money and we get a lot of appreciative comments for the thoughtfulness. The inside guy may need to go out to the truck but we generally bring everything inside to limit in and out shoes on and off hassles. It has worked for us as an alternative to booties.

I have seen some guys keep a pair of new sneakers for use inside homes. Same impression really when your bring in your gear and along side your bucket is a pair of shoes/sneakers/slippers

Hey Jarad,
I used to do the same but had a few too many close calls walking down hardwood stairs. Seemed slippery at times and almost went for a ride. Tried the disposable booties but did not find them to be much better. I prefer the booty boots when they are in stock.

We use the disposable kind now, but they get dirty so quickly and it just seems wasteful when you see a bucket full of used ones. They work for sure, I’d just rather have more of the booty boots.

What about interior ladder work, Jared?

Patrick Analore (FL) used to post that he washed them.

I had some Winmate overshoes for awhile, but some acid ate one up…

Is that why your toes look that way?

I buy multiple pairs so I never run out…maybe that’s why they are hard to come by…I’m hoarding them… Speaking of acid toes…reminds me of Kurt K’s Acid shoes from the giant terrarium he did…

If we have interior ladder work we will either bring the ladder in at the beginning of the job, ie. 6’ step. More frequently what we run into is the large palladium needing to be cleaned or chandeliers which are saved until the end of the service. At that point we put on the ol’ clod hoppers and head out to the truck and bring what we need in. With the 24’ we place a large rubber mat underneath to protect the flooring. We keep our shoes on when using the ladders in foyers. You always make sure you are wearing socks without those piggy toes sticking out! Lol

I would not want to work in socks unless the client insists on removing shoes. too many obstacles, kids toys, and stuff to step on. Not to mention using a step ladder for taller windows, socks would be hazardous. Disposables work great. The client appreciates the extra care you use and your feet are protected.
