Cleaning Store Front Glass

Yeah, I agree. I like to pole the bottom windows because then you can bust down a whole row of windows pretty quick.

His upper window technique is definitely different. It’s weird to me, but hey, whatever works for him.

Anybody have a link to a video showing the technique of how to clean lower storefront windows w/o bending over? My back and knees thank you in advance!

I take a knee.

Thanks for the tip - much appreciated!

I think bending down isn’t that bad …better than taking a knee and faster for me at least than poling it

Hmmm… the thing is if its just a small amount of glass on a stop here an a stop there , Then no big deal with bending down .

If you have lots of stops like what you had in the video, then me personally . I would cut a channel down to the size of the glass so its one pull an done . Swivel strip washer, and swivel squeegee on a stick no bending

For me this goes with small windows that are high an that you have to stick if there are a lot of them then cut the channel to size one pull an done on to the the next. Don’t forget these are stops your doing 1-4 tines a month . so its worth it to cut donw channels if need be .

don’t forget you have to work x amount of hours a day so work smart. JMO!!!

It looks like that center your in goes all the way down I would defenitly cut a channel to size if it were me

If I were going to the gym 3-5 tines a week, and in great shape I still would cut my channel down, Because I want to be able to go to the gym when im done working for the day .

These are all just suggestions you can bend down all you want . one thing clear has nothing to do with being a pro.

got to admit me an the gym use to be best friends, I hear it calling me all the time , but I opt for the that nap or bottle of nice cold beer these days . Now you hit me in a sore spot I hate being out of shape . was always in shape freaking getting old sux . being married is great though, but makes you complacent .

Fyi I could still bend down an do all the glass in that center and more at optimal speed , But why would I be so stupid when one or two or even 3 channels cut down cuould save me all that fatigue on my body

Now that I think about it back when I first started I use to do 2 Centers like that . one had lowers just like that prob. 50 plates I cut my channel down it went 4x a month . I was in great shape back then . Once I cut my channel down I didn’t dread pulling In an doing that center .

the other center had box windows on top of regular windows I had to cut my channel down for one pull no question it decreased my time in there for sure .

But to each is own !!!

8 years now going on 9. Im happy that cutting channels works for you guys, I simply dont. It might save time but going through and getting each channel for each job seems a bit much for me. I can just grab my tools and go. but like you said to each their own.

And by going through and finding just the right channel for each job would take a bit of time even with a very nice organized truck. and for example that job has 6 different size windows… I guess with your method straight pull the same sized windows then fan or straight pull the odd shaped ones. but with all the digging to get the right channels out and switching your tools … id bet we would be finished at the same time. But hey make a video id be happy to watch !
