Dry Fit Polo Shirt question

Anyone have any recommendations for a good dry fit polo brand to use for your uniform? Good price, good quality, doesn’t fade, etc. Thanks

Lacoste

I’ve been happy with the Port Authority polo’s. I got the 100% poly in lime green.

Polyester by nature doesn’t fade. It’s also bleach resistant- great for power washing.

I’ve gotten 2 full seasons out mine. Out of the 7 I started with, I’m down to about 3 ‘good/presentable’ ones, so I’ll probably order some more in spring.

They do require some special care, that I failed to address early on: Never wash them in warm or hot water - it will basically bake-in any stains. Also don’t handle cats while wearing it- the threads pull pretty easy.

I still use the less presentable shirts for power washing or gutter cleaning days, or on days that I know I won’t be taking off my jacket. The collars have stayed nice.

I like the Port Authority polos as well, though mine are 60/40 and black in color.

For hot weather like I deal with here in FL a 100% poly feels good for about 5 minutes until it gets soaked through, then it feels like I’m wearing a plastic bag.

My problem is that polos designed for uniforms always fit me like potato sacks. I always need everything to be ultra mega slim fit to just look normal. :disappointed_relieved:

i stumbled on the perfect workshirt for window cleaning a few yrs ago . they are made for golf, golf windshirt is what i buy. these have extra generous cut under the armpit ,so they dont pull when youre squeeging . they are twin layer material with elasticated cuff/waistband- also featherlight if you buy one of the better makes . they also dry off quickly if get rained on .
personally my favourite maker is Sunderland of Scotland

Is there a link for these shirts.

What do you do for uniform shirts then?

My dream would be shirtless, but since that’s not advisable, i went with two options. For polos:

Not necessarily practical though because they proly won’t be around forever since they’re not specifically for uniforms.

Currently i mainly wear t-shirts. My local printshop suggested a brand that’s on the slimmer side.

Do you have them embroidered then at a different place? Or just solid color shirts with no logo

You can them embroidered at any shop.

Certainly. I’m just curious to know if he has done just fine without a shirt logo, since I am considering doing the same.

Ahhh, sorry Samuel. For the cost I can’t imagine not doing a logo. I bought 6 Port Authority polos with my logo for $104. Hard to beat that for the professional look. I went back and had my North Face wind breaker done for another $8.

I got our polos embroidered on the front from Queensboro, and then had the backs silk-screened in black. For a total of 12 shirts, this worked out to under $300, including setup fees. I’m sure you’ll end up spending a few more bucks, today. But queensboro is always running sales, if you sign up for their emailing list.

I think for our next printing, I’ll be going with a much simpler design.

I had them embroidered at a local print shop. Here’s me wearing one:

I don’t have a pic of the t-shirts, but they are screen printed front and back.

I really like the professional look of a polo better, so i might consider @Infinity’s idea to embroider the front and screen print the back.
