Favorite squeegee handle and channel size?

Just curious what squeegee handle and channel size you all favor. Personally I use the Ettore Contour Pro + with a 12inch channel. Im doing primarily residential. This handle comes in real handy for pretty much any window. Ive heard a lot of ppl bash it, but after getting used to it I think its the best hands down. deep windows are never a problem. As far as one single tool that I can use for just about everything without fidgeting around this combo works best for me.

In a home I like the 12 inch channel as well. I use Steccone handles because the angle is closer to zero than other handles I have tried. The steeper angle makes closing out easier.

PS
Steccone featherweight handles and channels are easier on the body as well. I’m not old yet, but most of my gear is chosen for lightness and ease of use.

Havent tried the Steccone handles yet. I’ll give it a try. Im kinda obsessed with squeegees, weve got about 7 different types. I like the “Windows so clean…You’ll think there open!” we use that slogan as well. Steve Wright??

You got that right! Steve Wrights program is worth every penny.

On storefronts I go with an 18" steccone channel and Ettore brass quick release handles. I use Ettore handles on storefronts because the angle is better for pole work than the Steccone handles. IMO

I have tried the long 30" Pulex channels but they wear on the body, especially the shoulders. You younger guys wouldn’t notice that.

PS
So you’re Clean and Green. Nice web site!

Hey Colm, I use the Contour <a href=“http://shopwindowcleaner.com/window-cleaning-tools/squeege-handles/ettore-handles/ettore-contour-pro-superchannel-handle-only.html?&a_bid=026f49f1” target=“_top”><img src=“http://www.shopwindowcleaner.com/affiliate/accounts/default1/banners/contour-pro-plus-handle-2.jpg” alt=“” title=“” width=“220” height=“220” /></a><img style=“border:0” src=“http://www.shopwindowcleaner.com/affiliate/scripts/imp.php?&a_bid=026f49f1” width=“1” height=“1” alt=“” /> as well. I love the Slayer channels <a href=“http://shopwindowcleaner.com/window-cleaning-tools/squeegee-channels/slayer-wcr-channels/wcr-slayer-channel-16.html?&a_bid=5a0aae2c” target=“_top”><img src=“http://www.shopwindowcleaner.com/affiliate/accounts/default1/banners/wcr slayer channel-5.jpg” alt=“” title=“” /></a><img style=“border:0” src=“http://www.shopwindowcleaner.com/affiliate/scripts/imp.php?&a_bid=5a0aae2c” width=“1” height=“1” alt=“” /> and I use four sizes (16", 12", 8", and 6"). My wife uses the Steccone Featherweights <a href=“http://shopwindowcleaner.com/window-cleaning-tools/squeegee-channels/steccone-channels/steccone-feather-weight-aluminum-channel-18.html?&a_bid=b3f0f7d5” target=“_top”><img src=“http://www.shopwindowcleaner.com/affiliate/accounts/default1/banners/steccone featherweight aluminum channel-1.jpg” alt=“” title=“” /></a><img style=“border:0” src=“http://www.shopwindowcleaner.com/affiliate/scripts/imp.php?&a_bid=b3f0f7d5” width=“1” height=“1” alt=“” /> and loves them in her Contour handle.

I have different favorites for different applications.

For pole work, I have 3 wagtail sizes…8, 14, and 18. The 18 is the one I use the most.

For hand work, I use an Ettore Ledge-Eze quick release with a Steccone featherweight channel. For store fronts, I use mainly the 18 inch. For homes, I have one that is about 13 inches. It’s one I custom cut years ago for a restaurant that had 200+ cutups.

I like the unger ergotec set up.

Could you tell us why Chris.

Didn’t you know his favorite color (colour for the Canadians among us:D) is green?!

That’s funny I carry a 12 and a 14 for homes. Makes me think. Maybe the 13 inch blade is the way to go.

I’ve found by carrying a 12" and a 16" I can handle a wide variety of windows quickly. I was amazed at how much easier it is to fan w/ a 16" over an 18".

wagtail flipper for me . in my bucket is 12",14"&18" ,the 18 is the main

Favourite for the British Empire dwellers among us.

Up to today my favorite combos are the Sorbo Swivel handle and 24" Sorbo Quicksilver for larger storefronts and perfect 24s on residentials; and the ettore brass handle and 14" and 20" channels for most residential apps.

I very much like the Pulex 10" combo I have as well. I had a featherweight Steccone 20" but it seemed too light to me. (Anyone who’s ever seen my hulking frame would understand:wink:
But I just received my Alumax swivel and 30" Slayer channel today. Maybe tomorrow will be my squeegee epiphany!

it seems everyone has their own tastes. I must admit I like the ergotec as well, not as versatile as the contour though. Im gonna try the Steccone stuff. Got a free 18" channel in one of the WCR shipments. Very Niiice! If I did more commercial Id probably use the 18" and the Ettore super system handle

12" channel on ErgoTec handle for most residential and 18" on ErgoTec swivel for large residential and commercial. Ettore contour Pro is right behind.

It’s a feel thing.

Hey Larry, I picked up my MBE from the Liz last week.

In my Pulex BOAB I have a 8" and 12" Ettore brass channels and handles and a 18" Slayer with the Sorbo swivel handle(waiting for someone to bankroll WCRs version). Usually have a 6" brass Ettore in my back pocket. This spring I will be going exclusively Slayer!

Only 2 i use 90% of the day are ettore 18 inch and 10 inch brass.

I roll with the Contour Pro and a 12" channel. Mainly Res work so it suits me well. On my larger channels I use Ettore Handles. It’s what I started out with and have not got around to switching.
