First "big" commercial quote

-Got a request today from a commercial property, from what google images/customer told me over the phone it’s a two story building with large plates of glass. Basically your “typical” office park-like set up of a building.

-They want exterior only, in/out of their entrance-vestibule area as well.

-I guess what I’m asking is, since this is my first request from a commercial property I’m curious how i should present the quote once I go onsite and check it out tomorrow afternoon. I want to cover everything in the quote I give them once I’m done, I only want to do this because I probably won’t be the cheapest and I want to make a good impact on them so they see the value in my service not just what I say when I meet with them tomorrow doing the quote.

-once the estimate is done they want it all sent by email to them so they have a copy of it and can look it all over.

Do you use a CRM like the customer factor?

Yeah good… email is much better than sending them a paper copy if you’re not set up properly to submit a professional proposal. Set a price and be on the up and up. Make them know you’re sure you know what the cost is. I always start a little high and allow them to negotiate because they are always going to try to work you down. Man good luck! Large commercial accounts are the hardest to attain but once you have them it’s like tenure. It’s hard to lose the job…

Ins certificate from your agent made out to the business.

Workmans comp certificate if you have one.

I title my quotes as a Proposal.

One email with these three attachments.

Huge commercial jobs I always put together a proposal with insurance attached and any other cert. you may have. I was told by one place that I was the first to take the time, count each pane and present them with a well detailed proposal.

Later that day I was told that I got the job, and that the other guy that wrote the amount on the back of his business card didn’t.

Good luck

Mike, include in your proposal Introduction letter, Ins paper work,Pictures of their property and a detailed Proposal spell out everything (window count, condition of the window(s), ect.) Good Luck buddy!

I use Jobber, I think I put together something like this through that. I’ve never had to put together anything like this before but I think it’ll be worth it.

Before I send it I’ll post up a couple pics and how I present everything.

All great ideas, definitely will be doing it the way you guys all do.

Thanks!

My first big commercial proposal was helped by panelessperfection Kevin D’s marketing forum.

I remember there was a quote proposal template of about 8 pages doing the rounds on there… I got the job based on the professional look of the quote… and I still have the job.

A well worded, good presentation works wonders!

ProWindowCleaning Good luck man!

Lots of people have nothing but good things to say about Home - Pro-Posal. It basically puts all that stuff together for you.

I am tempted to give Pro-Posal another go, I do like the idea of adding commercial accounts and being able to “cold call” quotes to them and have it look amazing.

Here is the building, the only glass is on the second floor and the vestibule/entrance on the front of this building. Kind of a bummer since google images tricked me to think I was bidding on a larger job.

24 large plates, 5 small plates that open in 3/5 have screens on the outside. Then the vestibule is 12 plates and ground level.

I’ll be putting my bid together tonight while doing next week’s schedule/office fun work.

Yeah that’s a good one to grab. Commercial jobs are so much nicer because nobody will bother when you’re working. For the most part. I hope you get it!

I hate to hijack the thread but could use help with this one. This is my first “big” commercial window cleaning bid.

I’m not to sure on pricing. I would like to use WFP, but there are screens on them. They would be a pain to remove. Perhaps, make it a two tier proposal. One with us removing the screens and one with them removing the screens. These screens are wedged in place; I can see the spring at the top and it is fully collapsed. I’m doing a walk through with the new property manager and will raise my concerns about them. Any thoughts?
